Eric decided to involve Paul, the camcorder King, in his project. Paul's disappointment at not being an auteur filmmaker was adversely affecting his marriage. On cost grounds, all 4 would share a tent at the Aphrodite Campsite. Booking hotels, is really expensive and tie you down with all kinds of rules. They would be "back to nature" in a luxury tent with all mod cons (like hot showers and nice loos) available.

Paul's wife reckoned that Paul would make a better husband if he was himself happy. During the 2 years it took to plan this video, Paul's marriage reached new heights.

THE VIDEO

Eric had proposed that Paul made a verite video of the 4 person walk.

Paul promised his wife that he wouldn't become a part of their sordid arrangement. The only sexual gratification he would come from Alice and Elise wearing thin quick-dry dresses which allow the sunlight to show off their legs and thighs.

Paul's wife knew this is Paul's kink. Both Alice and Elise know it as well. They were happy to indulge Paul. By their standards his kink was small beer.

WHAT ELSIE KNEW

Elise knew that Eric lodged with on and Alice because he had a good job in Bournemouth.

Elise knew that her husband was bisexual and fancied Ron, who was also bisexual. She didn't know that Eric wanted both Ron and Alice sexually. She didn't know that Alice also wanted Eric sexually.

Elise may have been pleased that, although Eric could have had a MMF bisexual 3some, he didn't. The only thing that stopped Eric fucking both Ron's and Alice's brains out was that he wanted to stay married. Eric had worked hard to effect a reconciliation after Alice had found out about his gay affair.

Now Eric resisted his sexual impulses. He didn't want to ruin his marriage. Though he wished that Elise would allow him to fully use his sexual powers, Eric recognised that this was unlikely to happen.

Elise didn't know that Ron and Alice made love so that Eric could hear them and masturbate.

PREPARING FOR THE VIDEO

Planning a video isn't as easy as many may think. Eric had chosen Paul because he had made a similar themed video. It got an award for "Technical Excellence" and had been shown throughout the South West at the major Arts Council funded sites.

Paul recognised that this was more complex than his previous work. He would need to show the background of the characters. He needed to get the audience aware of the inherent drama.

But he also needed the characters to get along. So he arranged for them to meet in Bournemouth and establish more of a friendship. He didn't want a strong bond, but enough to allow them to tolerate each other for a fairly strenuous walk. It was there that an unexpected bond between Ron and Elise started.

ERIC AT HOME

Paul had "background" shots of Eric going to work shifts (and the more profitable overtime shifts) from Ron's house.

It then showed Eric going back to the village, by train a bus and a walk, to his marital home.

When he was at home Elise enjoyed having her husband sleep next to her and to make love, but that was implied in Paul's version.

The breakfast shot showed that Eric wasn't much of a talker. It showed that Elise (and not Eric) took her daughter to school. It showed Elise walking past rich peoples' houses. They purchased (or had them built) in the school's catchment area.

The background shot showed the village school proudly showing that it was rated "Excellent" by the School Inspectorate.

Then it showed Eric going off to work, with a lift from a friend.

Paul then showed Elise alone on a bench and Paul asking her "Why don't you just sell up and move to Bournemouth?"

Elise replied "My daughter has all her friends in the village. She is getting the best education, better than some private schools. It's not ideal that Eric has to stay in Bournemouth. Ideally I would like him to spend more time with our daughter. And to be honest I would like Eric to do more of the domestic chores."

The background shot showed that Elise and her daughter visited Bournemouth and spent some time with Eric, Ron and Alice. Crucially Paul showed that Ron was content to do the chores.

THE FILMING EQUIPMENT

Paul's camera had an adjustable lens which could show a close up of a face through to a landscape with just one hand adjustment. Technology had greatly improved since his Arts College days. Now he had a better camcorder for Β£1,500 than a Β£3,000 camera the college had.

He had a shoulder support for his camera, which made it easy to carry. In theory he could film people while walking backwards. But, given the uneven footpath they would be walking, he wouldn't take that risk.

Because filming would be over 2 days, he had a spare camera battery fully charged, which he would store in his tent.

APHRODITE'S CAMPING GROUNDS

They got into Ron's people carrier and he drove them to Aphrodite Camp site, which is at the mid point of the Aphrodite Way (a 20 mile footpath). The idea was to do the first half of the walk, stay in the tent, have breakfast and then complete the walk. Eric would then get a bus back to retrieve his car.

All 5 set up their tents at the camp site. The 4 walkers were not very good at putting up the 4 person, 2 bedroom tent. Paul didn't intervene but just filmed them.

The 4 main characters eventually succeeded in pitching the tent.

Paul then set his up his one man tent easily.

START OF WALK

They get into Ron's people carrier car and he drove the 10 miles to the start of the Aphrodite Way. They were not alone. There were about 30 cars in the car park.

All 5 out of the car and walked up a steep hill, wearing day sacks. Paul's camera captured the thighs and legs of both women as they walked up the hill.

Eric raced ahead of the others. Alice was not far behind. She had trained on the fairly steep Bournemouth footpaths. If truth be told Alice wanted Elise to see Eric fuck her. She wanted to bring the situation to a "Her or Me" stance. Even though she was now 40, and 8 years Eric's senior, she felt that he would choose her.

KEEPING ELISE COMPANY

Ron, being a gentleman, lagged behind to keep Elise company. So they were already far behind. Elsie took a breather half way up the hill and sat down.

She explained "I twisted my ankle last time I went for a country walk. I am going to take the walk slowly and keep my heart rate to a reasonable level. I really need to get fit, but I don't have the time. It's tiring being effectively a single mum."

Ron said "That was on your reconciliation weekend. I'm glad that it went okay, despite the twisted ankle. I am happy to remain with you. A part of this walk is designed to get to know each other better. But Eric seems to think it is a marathon race."

Elise said "That would be nice. I miss adult company. We can walk and talk."

Meanwhile Paul was up and down the hill to get as much video footage as he could. He captured them speaking to one another.

All those bonding sessions had worked. Elise and Ron were used to talking to each other and ignoring the camera. Paul was a bit miffed that Eric and Alice had separated themselves from Ron and Elise. It made photographing them more difficult. Of course he had the lens that could track them at the top of the steep hill, but it would have been better if all 4 were shown looking back down the steep hill, with others struggling to get to the summit.

THE VIEWPOINT

About 2 miles further on was the first landmark (and for Elise the first place to rest without sitting on the ground).

Paul, Eric and Alice were waiting for Ron and Elise to join them at a view point. They were now about a quarter of a mile behind.

Paul video taped them coming up the slight incline, obviously tired. Ron and Alice sat down and enjoy some bottled mineral water.

They took photos of the cliffs and the sea with themselves in the foreground. Paul video filmed them all happy together.

Then all 5 set off together. However Ron and Elise soon lagged behind. Paul remained with Elise and Ron for a short time so he could show Eric and Alice going off into the distance. Then he departed to go in hot pursuit of the 2 marathon racers.

He decided that Ron and Elise were better subjects than Eric and Alice. He turned back and saw that Ron and Elise were about to reach a turnstile, which had barbed wire near it. He recorded the scene, unseen, from a distance with the camera perched on his shoulder.

Being a perfectionist, Paul got them to go over the turnstile again twice. He wanted to record them from different angles. He also wanted another shot of the sunlight showing off Elaine's thighs and legs.

This was really a pisser for Elaine, who hated going over turnstiles. But she liked it that Ron held her to make sure she didn't come to harm.

"SOMETHING CHANGED" AT THE TURNSTILE

Elise had just hoped to get back to a time when she and Eric walked and talked and spent the night in their tent, doing the "what comes naturally."

After the shot of her dress, Paul persuaded them to do it one last time.

Ron took Elise's hand to help her over a turnstile. Paul saw the look that Ron gave to Elise. He had captured that moment when Ron and Elise had exchanged loving looks. She was looking down on Ron and he was looking up to her.

He had captured that exquisite moment on film.

Paul was a devotee of Pulp, a once extremely popular band led by Jarvis Cocker.

Most people know their super-hit "Common People" and it is rightly ranked number one in a Guardian poll of Pulp songs. Fewer people now recall "Disco 2000" which was once extremely popular. Paul had no problem with "Common People" being ranked number 1. But it was an absolute outrage that the Guardian poll had ranked "Something Changed" at number 12. It was even way behind "Disco 2000" and many what Paul thought of as "filler" songs.

The readers of Guardian who were polled should have ranked "Something changed" at number 2 and "Disco 2000" as number 3. No other combination make sense.

Paul recognised in that moment that, like his second favourite Pulp song, something had changed for Ron and for Elise.

Like in the song "When she woke up that morning, she had no way of knowing."

Paul used an extract of the song with a freeze frame of Ron holding Elise's hand in the video, which is now a cult favourite.

Paul used the part where Jarvis sings

"Why did you hold my hand and softly say

Stop asking questions that don't matter anyway"

THE WOODLAND

As Ron and Elise slowly made their way towards the Aphrodite Camp site. Elise had to answer a call of nature. She took a footpath towards a woodland while Ron waited for her.

As she got towards the woodland, a couple came out. It was fairly obvious why they had gone into the woods. They hadn't gone there for a prayer meeting. Elise supposed they had just fucked each other.

The man smiled and the couple went on their way. Then Elaine found a place where she could pee without being seen. She finished pissing and returned to Ron. She told him what she thought had taken place.

CHATTING UP MEN

Ron smiled and said "They might just have been pissing. I like to watch people pee. I sometimes hook up with a man in public toilets as they piss in the urinals. I make it obvious that I am looking, or the man looks at my penis, or both of us look.

Sometimes I don't piss, I just stand there exposing my cock.

The accepted signal is for one of us to say "You have a nice cock."

If the man isn't gay he will be offended and I may have to apologise. That's embarrassing. Luckily it doesn't happen often. But mostly the other man and I leave together or we make arrangements to meet another day.

Once I met a guy as I peed in the open air. He asked me if he could hold my penis while I pissed. We ended up together for the next few hours, but he had to go."

Elise said "I forget that you are bisexual."

Ron said "Its not just men. I like those videos of women pissing or piss parties where groups of people pee in front of everyone else.

If I wasn't a gentleman I would have asked if I could watch you."

Elise replied "So Paul likes my legs and you want to watch me pee. What's wrong with men?"

MEN'S FAULTS

Ron said

"Women's faults are manifold.

But men have only 2.

everything they do."

Elise said "Many a true word is spoken in jest."

THE THOMAS HARDY MONUMENT

They trudged slowly up to the next resting point, which was the memorial statue to the Dorset hero Thomas Hardy. Below the statue was a poem of his which ended

They are blithely breakfasting all--

Men and maidens--yea,

Under the summer tree,

With a glimpse of the bay,

While pet fowl come to the knee...

Ah, no; the years O!

And the rotten rose is ript from the wall."

Underneath the statue and plinth was a fresh red rose.

Ron said "Probably put there by some Thomas Hardy nerd. The verse seems a bit drear, reminding us of death."

EAT, DRINK AND BE MERRY

Elise said "It reminds me of the saying that there is nothing better for a person than to eat and drink and be glad. Then joy will accompany them in their toil all the days of their life."

Ron asked "Epicurus?"

Elise said "No. The bible."

YATES

Ron was now "in the zone" and knew that Elise was attracted to him.

He used Yeats's "A Drinking Song" to help him woo Elise (on the sly). He knew he had feelings for her but didn't know if something had changed for her.

He quoted Yates's

"Wine comes in at the mouth

And love comes in at the eye;

That's all we shall know for truth

Before we grow old and die.

I lift the glass to my mouth,

I look at you, and I sigh.

They touched imaginary glasses. Ron felt it right to give Elise a gentle kiss. She didn't object. It was a romantic kiss, one Elise would have liked to receive from a man if she wasn't married.

It was a yearning kiss, one she had craved when she was separated.

But she was now reconciled. And yet Ron was here and obviously happy to be with her. Since they got married, Eric hadn't recited a poem to her, yet alone such an apt poem.

She was nearly in tears about being wooed by a poem. She wanted Ron to know that she wanted him.

Elise said

"Before you grow old and die

I lift the glass to my mouth,

I look at you, and I sigh"

They once again touched imaginary glasses and she kissed Ron. It felt right, despite it coming from a man not her husband. At this moment, Ron was what she craved, not her husband.

She kissed Ron once again. It was pure lustful, snogging. It went on and on but eventually ended naturally.

Neither quite knew what to do about the kisses. Both wished they were single.

VAMPIRES

Ron decided to play things down.

He said "Talking of toil. Let's set off. We need to get to the tent before darkness descends. This part of the world is famous for vampires, who also need to drink."

Elise said "And I didn't pack my cross or a wooden stake sharpened to a point."

Ron said "Then we better make haste, or I will see fang marks in your pretty neck before our morning breakfast"

Elise said "And being a vampire I wouldn't be able to get up for breakfast. You'll have to bring me something for supper instead. But nothing with garlic."

They set off for their overnight stay, to stay in a tent with their respective spouses. And they knew that Paul, who would record everything he could.
