Looking over the index and chapters. I will probably combine some to make the chapters longer after all.

Chapter 7 Recovering the girls papers from mom
Friday: Week Two.
Alarm went off early. I got up and did my morning routine had breakfast and left for work taking my briefcase with me. I got out of bed a still a bit groggy from the sleep aid. Got my usual morning routine done and had breakfast.
Left a note for Betty letting her know I'd be back sometime after lunch, the office stuff was due around 9:00 and Lance had helped me clear the small bedroom before we went out to check out the RV yesterday.
I stopped and got gas and ran into my HS buddy Larry.
"Hey Scott, we still on for Sunday evening?" He asked.
"Yes, should be back well before supper time. I'm headed to Kentucky Lake for the weekend."
"Stan said you had to postpone our Friday plans. Who you headed down with?"
"A couple of friends I met in Fairfield."
"Got a cabin rented?"
"No, taking my RV that I just bought this week."
"Sweet, when do we get to check it out?"
"I'm leaving for the lake as soon as the girls get to my place this evening. How about Sunday." I said.
"See you Sunday then so we can meet your friends and see if they are as cool as us." grinning.
"They are way cooler." I quipped back.
"Oh, no way. The only way they could be cooler is if they are a couple of sweet young things." He chided.
The grin on my face gave it away.
"Wait! What? Did you say Girls? You're going camping with two babes???"
I just nodded my head.
"No freaking wonder you canceled on us Friday! We'll be bringing the wives when we come Sunday. Count on it."
"See you later, I have to go." I said.
"Later dude and you had better not be pulling my leg." Larry said. "Are they hot?"
"You'll see Sunday." and I left.

I got out of the car in front of Gram's house. I had brought mom and dad's car since we were headed to try and get the girls' documents. When I got to the door, Gram's opened the door.
"Thank you for helping the girls get their stuff. I had asked their mother for it and was told to F' off." She said.
The girls were ready. They had had a bit of breakfast and put on some old clothes and a light hoodie they had picked up from the thrift store. My plan was for them to ditch the clothes in a trash bag and I'd toss it in a dumpster in Carmi.
"We are going to take my car and your new one if your mom hasn't seen it yet." I said.
"She hasn't." Kala said.
"OK who's going to be look out?" I asked.
Kenz held up her hand and said, "Kala has a little steadier hand and can get the safe open the fastest"
"OK, here's what we are going to do. Kenz is going to take your car and park so she can see the street that we turn on to get to the trailer. I'm going to drive in from the other direction since the trailer is the last thing on that street and drop of Kala so she can get the key if it is still there after we make sure no one's home. Here is a small walkie talkie for each of you and I have another. After I drop Kala off, I'm going to drive around the block and be sitting at the end of the next road waiting for Kala to let me know she is on the way out with the car running. Kenz, if you see a police car or either your mom or, "Joe is it?" coming let us know over the radio so Kala can get out. We all clear on what we are going to do?" I asked.
Kenz said, "Yes. But I'm a bit nervous."
"Just slouch down in the car and leave it running so we can all get away quickly if needed. You will do fine." I encouraged.
"I'm going to get the envelope with our money in it if it's still there." Kala said.
"Leave it. They are more apt to not notice the documents gone for quite some time if the money has not been taken." I said.
"But it's nearly $1,500 between the two of us." Kenz said.
"I'll cover it for you. We need to be as discrete as possible." I said.
We headed out with me following Kenz in the other car after I showed them how to use the walkie talkies.
She got to her parking space and had her sun glasses on since it was daylight and had tucked her blond tresses up under an old farm cap I had brought. Kala was similarly dressed.
I drove on past and came around the back way to the trailer and let Kala get out. But not before handing her a note pad and pen saying, "You said that the spare key was in a fake rock at the base of the power pole. Stop like you are reading the power meter then writing something on the notepad. Then look around like your checking out the other power poles and drop your pen and make sure no one is looking. When you bend to pick up the pen get the key and then walk to the door and knock on it as you put the key in and open the door like someone is letting you in."
"Got it." Kala said and hopped out of the car.
I then went down the street and stopped at the end and gave Kenz a thumbs up and turned to go around the back and come to the side of the street around the corner from the trailer and waited.
It wasn't more than 5 or 6 minutes and Kala came over the radio. "Got the papers and locked the safe back. Heading out."
I put the car in gear and came around the corner just as she got to the street. I stopped and she got in shaking a bit.
"Gawd! I'm nervous." She said.
"Relax, it's over. You did good." I said.
About that time Kenz said over the radio, "Oh Crap! Joe's coming down the street. I can see his old truck."
I said back over the radio, "Keep cool. We are out and headed your way. I'll turn your way to block his view. Kala scrunch down in the seat."
I got to the end of the block and Joe had not gotten to the turn yet so I turned and blocked the view of Kenz in her car as he turned toward the trailer.
I spoke into the radio, "Let's get out of here." and Kenz pulled out behind me and we headed back to Gram's.
We got out of the car and neither Kala or Kenz could hardly walk they were shaking with nerves and adrenaline so badly. I must admit, it was a lot closer than I had hoped for and was a little pumped on adrenaline as well.
I helped the girls get up the steps and into Gram's as their grandmother held the door for us.
"Did you get their papers?" Gram's asked.
Kala nodded and said, "Yeah, but we got away just as Joe was coming back for some reason."
"He didn't see either of the girls." I said.
Kala suddenly said, "Oh crap! I still have the key."
I laughed. "Keep it as a souvenir of your bad side."
Gram's and Kenz laughed.
"Gram's, do you have a fire safe to keep these in?" I asked.
"I do but it's full."
"Then when we are out getting you two new phones, we'll stop and get you girls a fire safe." I said.
"Y...Your getting us new phones?" Kenz asked.
"Yeah, I'm going to put the two of you on an unlimited plan." I said. "Now change out of those clothes so we can get going to the phone store."
They scrambled off to change.
We got to the phone store and naturally they both wanted iPhones but felt that they were two expensive. I got them the iPhones and Otter box cases to put them in.
"Is Gram's on a pay as you go as well?" I asked.
"Yes she is." Kala responded.
