"Good good. So basically a North Indian," she said, to no one in particular. She had signed both the forms by now and gave it back to each of us. "Why are you guys still standing? Come on, have a seat."

I didn't know what to reply, "Thank you ma'am," "It is a shame that Humanities girls do not like engineers." she chuckled.

"Not true for all girls maa'm," Debolina interjected. The HoD looked at her, "Well, in that case.  All the best, I would wait for invitation." she laughed.

We both got up.

Some months later when me and Debolina would be walking in Saket Mall, holding hands, I will remind her of our first day after joining and this conversation with her HoD and how grateful I was that she said 'not all girls'.
