It was a day to be all about Marcie.
It was around breakfast when I started realizing how much what I wanted for her was going to be a wave to cater to her. As we looked at the breakfast menu for the resort's restaurant, I looked at all the food they offered for breakfast. Marcie mentioned as we walked to where it was that she was going to have to eat light.
"Why?" I asked.
"It's your fault really, Leo," she answered.
I looked at her in surprise until I saw her looking at the spa menu on her phone.
"What's a spa menu?" I asked.
"I learned about what one was during the yoga retreat," she started. "It's a list of services the business provides. It turns out in your desire to pamper me, you asked for an all-inclusive package."
As we sat down to eat, she was explaining it to me. I'm not going to lie when I say I was overwhelmed. It was very technical in a spa kind of way. As her spinach and egg white omelet made its way to her, she talked about the process.
"It's gonna start with a really good massage," she started.
"I could do that," I said as my shrimp and grits slid in front of me.
She looked at me patiently and seductively.
"It's different than your touch, Leo."
She leaned in to kiss me on the cheek.
"You know I have a desire to feel your hands again later, Romeo."
I had to pause and smile before some of the juice would spray on the table. She continued.
"It's followed by a facial."
I was about to talk before she looked at me, making me pause before the obvious joke came out of my mouth.
"Then a mani/pedi."
"What is that?" I asked, truly drawn in to what my wife was going to go through that day.
"Manicure and pedicure."
"I love the way you pick out colors for your nails."
She smiled.
"Wait til you see what I'm going to pick out when I'm done."
As we started to enjoy the food, I was thinking about what I would do while she was going through this process. I had some plans with her later that night, so it would give me a chance to double check all the arrangements. One of the promises I made to her was that there would be no work activities during our trip. This was the biggest challenge of the trip because of my obsessive-compulsive ways with work stuff. This included not checking in Aubrey or Matt about work stuff as well. Her argument was that I deserved to relax as well.
It was then she surprised me.
"So, Leo. Any idea what you're going to do while I'm being pampered?"
