Fun in the Hot Tub
Two years ago last December, one of my colleagues at the firm asked if we would like to use his ski chalet at Vail for the New Year's Eve weekend. It had been a long time since we had gone skiing and I jumped at the opportunity. I didn't give you much chance to think about it either. I called and told you we were leaving right after Christmas. We arrived in Vail on a very cold, but crystal-clear night. We got directions from the rental car company up the mountainside to our chalet. It was located about 1,000 up the slope from the village and the view from the back deck was of the village below and the ski slopes opposite. It was beautifully furnished and the best part was that we had it all to ourselves. The first night, we were tired from our trip and soon fell into bed together under a thick white comforter with a fire burning slowly across the room in the fireplace. The firelight made your face look beautiful on the white pillow. I kissed you tenderly and we entwined our naked bodies into an embrace that lasted the whole night.
The next morning, we got an early start, and made it to the slopes to catch one of the first lifts to the top. The skiing was incredible and we had an amazing day. We skied almost constantly, taking time out for lunch on the veranda of the lodge to enjoy the warmth of the January sun beating down on us. The took our last run around 5:00 and made our way back to the chalet. The fridge was stocked with steaks and all the fixings, so I prepared dinner for us as you retreated to the shower. You emerged wearing a white terry cloth robe and looked incredible. There was a glow in your face from the sun and exercise of the day and you looked radiant. I took you in my arms and kissed you deeply. We ate slowly, savoring the rare cut of beef and fresh asparagus I had prepared. As we were finishing, I suggested we try out the hot tub on the deck. It was cold out, of course, and the deck had a light covering of snow on it, but the steam rising from the lighted hot tub at the far edge of the deck beckoned us. You opened the door, walked across the deck in your bare feet; stopped at the edge of the tub, shrugged your robe off and stood for a moment, naked in the moonlight, with the steam wrapping itself around you. You were such a vision. Then you stepped into the tub and waved for me to follow you.
I stripped away all of my clothes in the kitchen, grabbed two glasses and the bottle of champagne that had been chilling in the ice bucket and walked across the deck to the tub. The cold against my skin was incredibly bracing, but I was eager to join you in the hot bubbling water. I eased in next to you and took you in my arms to kiss you. Sitting next to you, I realized that we could look directly down into the village far below - and if we strained our eyes a bit, we could make out skiers coming down the far slopes opposite us on one of the lighted slopes. The effect was magical and it felt so wonderful to share it with you.
