Jane waited on the corner; the bright, early summer sun warmed the stone column beside her. Her feet moved unconsciously, shuffling a bit nervously, waiting to see Colt after the entire school year apart.
She was worried he would look different, would act different, would have somehow changed after their time apart. She didn't want him to change, he was her best friend, someone she was comfortable around, and it would be horrible to lose that.
Colt made his way across the parking lot to their normal meeting spot, tension gathering in his body. He spotted Jane standing by their stone column and had to grin at her glazed expression. She was staring fixedly at the park bench several feet in front of her, obviously lost in thought.
He took a moment to study her. She looked like she hadn't changed a bit, though she had cut her hair shorter than the last time he had seen her. She wore a long, flowing skirt and a simple tank top, clothes that didn't draw attention to her almost perfect body.
He knew that there would not be a speck of make up on her face when he saw it, but to him she was the most beautiful girl in the world. His grin widened as he crossed the remaining distance between them, eager to see her.
Jane was so wrapped up in her thoughts that she didn't notice when Colt leaned against the stone next to her until he playfully jabbed her in side.
"Off in your own world again?" He asked teasingly, "Do I get a hug?" He added, holding open his arms.
"Colt!" Jane exclaimed, throwing her arms around his neck. "Hey you!"
"Hey." He replied, hugging her back tightly, face buried in the top of her sweet smelling hair, glad to see her again after so many months apart.
He inhaled that smell, exhaling deeply, taking in that scent so long missed and felt the heat surge through his body, quickly trying to suppress it.
Jane looked up into his face at the sound of his sighing breath and their eyes met for a long moment. She realized how close they still were and pulled back hastily, feeling a bit awkward and embarrassed.
What was the matter with her? This was Colt, they were the best of friends, everything was ok with him.
"How was the drive?" She asked to cover her awkward moment, confused by her reaction.
"Long." He replied, missing the warmth of her in his arms, and trying not to show it. She laughed, he smiled in reply. "I missed your laugh." he confessed, "E-mail just isn't the same as talking to you in person."
"I know what you mean; I missed you making me laugh."
"So what are we up to?"
"That's a good question..." She replied, teasing. He groaned.
"I always have to choose what we do."
"So? You should be used to it by now then."
"You're horrible..."
"I know, but you love me anyway... Now common, what are we doing?"
He stopped for a moment at her playful answer, and she froze at the look in his eyes before he quickly smoothed his face,
"Let's grab something to eat, I'm kind of hungry." He replied and started leading the way.
Jane realized her breathing had sped up slightly and quickly followed after him before she could examine why.
They ate at one of their favorite restaurants, a little family owned taco shop whose service was quick, and the food was cheap, but good. They caught up on how finals had gone and the havoc of packing up all of their stuff from their dorms to move back home for the summer.
When they had finished their food they made their way to the nearby park, still chatting cheerfully. The sun was still hot in the sky, though it had begun to make its sinking journey into the west.
As they made their way down the path next to the river Colt paused in their conversation to rub his neck hard, then tweaking his head from one side to the other to pop it.
"Sore?" Jane asked.
"Yeah," he admitted, "stiff from the drive still."
"Well, here, let me get at it."
"Nah, that's ok."
He tried to act nonchalant, but he felt himself tense at the idea of her soft, warm hands kneading over his flesh. Tensing made his neck muscles twinge in pain and he winced involuntarily; Jane noticed.
"Common you, I don't like you in pain, not when I can fix it."
She plunked herself down on one of the benches near the water with a stubborn look on her face and beckoned for him to do the same.
Colt sighed and sat beside her, there was no use in arguing further, Jane was probably the most stubborn person he had ever met.
She faced him away from her so that he straddled the bench and then got her knees up under her to lean into his neck and upper shoulders, kneading with her fingers and palms. Colt relaxed into her touch, feeling the knots begin to loose in the muscles of his neck, he closed his eyes and groaned low in his throat.
His mind suddenly presented him with the image of those soft, warm hands stroking over his body, running her fingers through his short, dark hair, straddling his lap, her hand slowly moving down to reach between their bodies...
He snapped his eyes open and focused on stopping his breathing from speeding up to match his heart rate, though he couldn't prevent the heat that had gathered in his body from shooting straight down to his cock, causing it to harden and grow down his pant leg uncomfortably.
"It's just a massage stupid!" He thought to himself, frustrated. "It means nothing; you know she just thinks of you as a 'big brother'." His mind gave the term some amount of scorn, "You will never be more than that."
Jane focused on working the muscles beneath Colt 's skin, losing herself in the motion and allowing her mind to wander.
She and Colt had been friends for a couple of years now, having met through a mutual friend at his birthday party. They didn't seem to have a lot in common, but they always seemed to have something to talk about, stories to share, and ideas to discuss. He was a firm and loyal friend, as well as simply a really good guy, she thought, better than almost any guy she'd ever known.
