Stacey couldn't believe it. This woman would have an abortion just because it was a girl. And here Stacey was about to terminate her own because she thought she wouldn't be able to take care of it. She could make it work. It would be tough but she could handle it. Stacey didn't even talk to the doctor. She left the clinic determined to give her child the best life she could. Now she has been blessed with two wonderful children. They were a handful but she couldn't picture her life without them. With or without their worthless excuse for a father.
As she watched the two of them sit and fidget in their chairs, she thought back to the day after she left his apartment. She had been full of nervous energy and couldn't sit still. She knew she had found the man of her dreams and couldn't wait to see him again. She had been waiting at home all day and didn't get a call. She thought maybe he got called in even though he was on vacation. Stacey just knew that he wouldn't just let things end. Not after the night they had. He would call. She just had to wait. No call came that night. Nor the next day. She didn't get his number so she had no way of calling him. She waited nearly a week of no phone calls before she finally went to his apartment. Of course, no one was home. She saw one of his neighbors in the hall and asked her about the tenant in 1B. The old woman told Stacey he had moved out a couple of days ago.
He had left. He didn't even have the courtesy to call her to tell her that he was leaving. She had fallen in love with him that night but he was just looking for an easy fuck. Stacey had managed to thank the old woman and make it home before she burst into tears. Nine months later, she gave birth to the twins. Her two children reminded her so much of him. Both had black hair just like their father. Britton had her eyes but Davey had those piercing silver blues. He looked like a miniature version of his father. Stacey tried not to let her feelings towards their father affect how she felt about them. She loved her two little children more than anything. And they knew it and used it to their advantage too.
"All right you two. I think you have served your time. Why don't you both go change into your swimsuits and we'll head to the beach." They didn't need to be told twice. Both jumped up and ran to their rooms to change. Stacey probably should have been a little stricter with her children. Especially Britton after today's incident. She had managed to tear up at least half of Davey's football cards before she was caught. Who knows what she would have done next. And all over her stuffed sheep getting a little dirty. Stacey changed into her suit, packed everything into her car and headed to the beach.
Stacey was just lying down getting some sun and watching the twins build sandcastles and try to bury each other. At least they weren't getting into any trouble. Yet. Those two had a bad habit of finding trouble anywhere. Once, they had managed to get them all kicked out of Chuck E. Cheese's because they decided to cheat at skeeball. One was rolling the balls up to the other at the top that would put the balls in the holes. Stacey had to grin to herself on that last thought.
Stacey didn't know what had compelled her to do it but she just had to look over towards the lifeguard chair about 15 yards away. There was a gorgeous man standing over there. He had black hair that hung just a little too long. He had to keep brushing it out of his face. She couldn't see his eyes because he was wearing dark sunglasses. But she happily admired everything else. He was muscular but just enough to be well defined. He wasn't one of those body builder types. And he was tall. She would guess maybe 6' 3" or 6' 4". Stacey glanced over at the twins to make sure they were all right and then decided to ogle this hunk some more. Now he was talking to some young anorexic brunette. He was openly staring at her "assets". Every pair of male eyes was focused on her. She would have been more decent if she had been naked. Her bikini left nothing to the imagination. It barely covered the important parts and it looked like she was going to fall out of her top any minute. Mr. Gorgeous grinned at something the little Barbie said and that is when Stacey's heart lodged in her throat. "Oh my God. That can't be. It just can't be him," Stacey whispered to herself. Then he turned her way and that grin faded instantly. He took of his sunglasses as if they made him see something that wasn't there.
"Oh no. It is him. Please lord tell me he didn't recognize me." Stacey turned her head back to the children but kept watching him out of the corner of her eye. He extricated himself from the little tease and was heading her way. His jaw was tense and lips thin. Stacey tried to keep her eyes focused on the twins so he wouldn't get a good look at her. But he kept coming and stopped right next to her. Stacey still wouldn't look up at him.
"Hello Stacey."
Stacey swallowed the lump in her throat and slowly brought her gaze up to meet his. "Hello David"
