Author's Note:

This is the fifth (and final) part in the

Bekah

portion of the Dreams series. I believe many of you have (by now) come to love Bekah, Dave, Joe, Ame, Nancy, Bob, and Nana. (Who doesn't love a spunky, lovable, doting Nana?!) My stories are STORIES, so many details make for fun, exciting, and interesting plot lines. Your reward for remaining calm in awaiting the next installment is the knowledge that Joe's story is up after this one. I assured you... and it remains worth it! Questions and comments are welcome. Please take the time to rate this story also. I hope everyone will be kind.

Recap

: "You ready to go to dinner?" she asked him and smiled as he pushed her a small step away from him.

"I will be," he answered and kissed her forehead. "He's driving. I'm guessing our goal is that I'll leave with you, and he'll gladly stay out with her and take her home, hence him driving, right?

"I

knew

I loved you for more than that sexy body," she teased and opened the door. They continued to talk about where they were meeting and how they could work out sitting closely together. Finally, Bekah told him they should just relax and see what happens.

Dreams: Bekah 05

When Bekah pulled up with Ame at the restaurant, she knew Dave and Joe were already sitting down. Bekah had told Ame there was a little unexpected traffic and apologized for showing up a little later than expected. Bekah walked in and located Dave and Joe. When the server walked them to their table, Ame saw Dave and waved.

"Oh, hey! Isn't that Dave?" Ame asked. "Is that Joe?" Before Bekah could answer her, Ame walked over to say hello.

"Ame?" Joe asked and stood up to say hi to her.

"Would you ladies like to sit at this table?" the server asked them as he pointed to the table right next to Dave and Joe. Bekah hid her smirk.

"Yes, please," Ame answered and then turned to Bekah. "Oh, if that's OK with you," she added and sat down before Bekah could answer.

"How long has it been?" Joe asked her. And that was the end of Bekah's matchmaking effort. Dave watched as they talked back and forth for five minutes and finally told Joe he was going to put their tables together. Joe and Ame talked the entire time, only stopping to pick out their dinner choices, and then continued. Dave and Bekah chose their food and enjoyed each other's company while their "dates" hit it off. Dave gave the server the card to pay for the four meals and put a generous tip on there when he suggested to the server that the two might be there until close and asked that he please let them.

Dave and Bekah stood up and waved at Joe as they walked out. Ame hadn't taken her eyes off him since she and Bekah had walked into the restaurant. They got in Bekah's car, and as Dave drove them back to their house, they talked about what they had done during the day. He brought her up to their room, and there was nothing more to talk about. There was plenty to do, however. Dave and Bekah did many things that evening. They fell asleep feeling very good and quite exhausted.

As far as they knew, there wasn't much to do the next day, so they hadn't set an alarm. They slept until they didn't need to sleep anymore. When they finally got up and had taken their showers, they decided they would go do the travel plans with an agent that day. Dave texted Joe while they were still in their room to ask about his date the prior night, and Joe ended up calling him from downstairs.

"Dude!" Joe began and laughed. Dave had put it on the speakerphone so Bekah could hear him clearly, though he was loud enough for her to hear anyway. "We had the best time last night! We talked about everything. I finally took her home at 11PM. We're going out again tonight," Joe informed them.

"Hey Joe," Bekah greeted him. "Are you downstairs?"

"Yeah, in my room." Joe answered.

"Can you come up here, please?" Bekah asked him and hung up. Dave gave her a weird look and she shook her head. Joe knocked and

came right in. "Hey, um, did she mention her trip next week?" Bekah asked when he took a seat on her gaming chair. He hadn't lost his excitement.

"Dude! Beck-Beck, can you believe it? She's going to San Diego too! We talked about meeting up there. When I asked her where she was staying, she said she didn't know yet. I told her about Hotel Coronado and told her she could just stay with me in my room. She wasn't sure, but I think she would if I asked her again. She's leaving on New Year's Eve around 10PM from the airport and coming home on Monday, January 9

th

. Crazy, right?"

"Well, we're going to get your travel plans set up for the week, Joe," Bekah told him. "Do you want to fly out with her and have me book a room with two double beds so she can stay with you? You know, so she doesn't feel pressure for anything."

"That would be awesome!" Joe answered and then looked around. "So, what do you two do while you're up here?"

"Wouldn't you like to know?" Dave told him as he came out of the bathroom.

They continued talking, but Bekah took out her phone to text Ame. Bekah asked if they could talk. Bekah's phone rang and she answered.

"Hello?"

"Bekah, I am so sorry about last night! I hope you didn't mind. I can't believe it! I hadn't seen Joe since graduation day our senior year. I couldn't believe how much we found to talk about. I didn't even know you'd left, but Joe was so sweet! He brought me to my house and stayed for another hour talking to me!"

"No, no! It's fine. I'm so glad you guys could catch up. So, Joe told me that you guys talked about San Diego. You're both going there! How cool is that?"

"I feel like it's so crazy, Bekah. I mean, I... oh! I'm just so happy!" Ame paused and then spoke again. "I'm sorry! I feel like such a bad friend!"

"Oh, gosh, don't say that! We're all good. Dave and I are actually setting up the travel plans today. You mentioned not having a hotel. Did Joe mention where he was staying? Would you feel comfortable staying there too?"

"Oh, gosh. Did he say he would be OK if I stayed with him?"

"Yeah, he did. I can book a room with two double beds. Also, you could fly out and come home together. If you found that much to talk about last night, and you're going out tonight also, I think you'll have a blast for a whole week!"

Bekah kicked Joe away from her leg. "Cut it out," she whispered as she covered the phone.

"I hope so, Bekah," Ame shared with her. "I haven't told anyone this, but I had the biggest crush on Joe all through my senior year. I never braved it to tell him, and then when I got a chance to tell him at a party the night of our graduation, I ended up having to leave early because I got a call telling me that my grandfather had died."

"Oh, Ame, I'm so sorry! Did you tell him that?"

"No, I didn't bring it up last night, but I plan to tell him, yes. Yeah, it was a shock. But anyway, I didn't know whether Joe had wanted to see me, so I never tried to contact him. I'm really thankful you asked me to go out last night. It's so cool that we met up like that."

"Me too, Ame. I hope tonight is awesome. Would you text me the flight times to and from so I can get him on the same plane? I'll talk to you soon, I hope!"

"You bet," Ame agreed. "See ya."

"Alright, Joe," Bekah told him and shook her head. "Girls talk. I'm not telling you what she said. But it's all set. We'll get you the information as soon as we have it. Now, get out of here. I need some alone time with my fiancΓ©."

"Wow," Joe reacted Dave as he stood up. "You've got a wild one here." He patted Dave's back and left the room.

"I hope this works out for them," Bekah admitted thoughtfully. "It

is

kinda rushing things for just meeting a week prior and then going on a vacation together!"

"Kinda jumped the gun there, huh?" Dave asked as he finished putting on his shirt. Bekah sighed. She hadn't been watching him, so she'd missed his shirtless sexiness.

"Dang it," she muttered. She shook her head and looked up at his face. "Jumped the..." she began and then realized what he had said. "Well, kinda, but it looks promising." She looked down at her phone but didn't really look at it.

"What's up, Rebekah?"

"I missed it." She looked up at his shirt and then back down at her phone.

"Oh, no way," he whispered. "I get to be the stronger one today! Ha! Got you," he teased. "Sorry, sweetheart. You did miss it. You'll have to wait until tonight now. Breathe through it, my love. Each day we make it through is that much closer to the wedding night."

"Countdown?"

"Let me see." Dave did the math quickly in his head and then turned to look at Bekah again. "109 hours until that ball drops."

Bekah dropped her head again as she put her hands up in front of her for him to take to pull her off the bed. "I don't know if I can wait," she whined.

"If

I

can, Love,

you

can," he assured her. "Believe me."

They went to the travel agency and presented their plans to Denise, the agent who was available to help them. Dave told her the ideas they'd had for his parents' trip, and Denise helped them put together a grand Hawaiian vacation for their 30

th

anniversary. Bekah also suggested another vacation for later in the year but didn't want to put a date on it. Denise was able to work up a plan for his parents to go away to a little cabin for four nights which could be done anytime during the dates provided.

With her knowledge of the San Diego area thanks to her research project, Bekah led the discussion of the plans for Hotel Coronado and managed to work in a rental car for Joe and Ame to have while they were there also. Dave called Jane when it was time to pay for the massive package and asked her to make sure the large amount would clear their account. Denise walked them through all the plans for Joe's trip and gave them her business card so that they could call and get further clarification of the details when the Hawaiian trip got closer. Dave thanked Denise for all her time and then shook her hand. He promised they

would

call her because they were sure to need a little reminder later on.

"Rebekah, promise me something, would you?" Dave asked her as he drove out of the parking lot.

"Anything," she promised, and she knew she had meant it.

"Next time we spend that amount of money, let it be on us."

"Oh, for sure," she agreed and nodded. "I don't know that I want to do that again for a long time, even as a down payment on a car." She laughed. "Yikes!"

"But, Bekah, that you wanted to do that for my parents and for Joe means more to me than I've let you know. I think it's amazing."

"I know. And I know it's a little crazy, but I have the means to do it. I have a healthy savings account to which I've always added from my paychecks, and now that I have a really large account that I hadn't known about, I can make this happen. And once your name becomes mine, it becomes ours. I don't like 'yours and mine.' Sure, when we ask which car we'll be taking, that makes sense. But it'll be

our

house, our decisions about that house, our account, our money, our future plans. Two become one, Dave."

"Two become one, Bekah," he repeated. "Anything else to do while we're out?"

"I have no plans today. Wanna spend it watching movies and using up the magic of that mistletoe?" Dave smiled at her and touched her hand.

"You bet I do," he responded. And that's what they did, though Bekah didn't remember watching much of any of the three movies they'd chosen to put on the television. They played games and played on their phones. They ate when they were hungry and talked about the honeymoon a little.

When they talked to Mom about little details for the wedding, Bekah marveled at how Mom had taken on the role of their master planner. She had it all covered. Cake, food, first dances, the spa date, and other little details Bekah hadn't even thought about. And in the afternoon, Dave and Bekah sat down with his parents and shared their travel plans with them.

"Mom, Dad," Bekah began, "we got you something." Dave handed them the folder with information about both trips. "We're sending you to Hawaii for your 30

th

anniversary." Bekah paused as Mom gasped, and Dad looked up from the folder. "You guys deserve a trip to spend together. You guys have done so much for me, and for us with all this wedding planning. We hope you'll have a blast."

"Bekah! You can't do that!" Mom replied incredulously.

"Um, yes, I can, and I did, and you can't give it back! It's got your names on it!"

"But how?" Mom asked. "Why?"

Bekah leaned over to whisper to Dave. "Didn't I just explain that?"

"I think they're in shock," Dave whispered back.

"Um, I think what Mom means to say is that we appreciate the gesture, and once we process the fact that we're going on a vacation for the first time in a very

long

time, not to mention for just the two of us, we'll show our appreciation in a much better way," Dad explained. He was thumbing through the folder when he came across the information for another location.

"Uh-oh," Dave teased Bekah and sat back with his hands behind his head to watch Bekah try to explain this one.

Bekah turned to look at him and then smacked him in his stomach as he laughed. "Thanks," she hissed. "Um, so we also got you another getaway vacation for later in the year. The details are in there, and the dates to choose from are there also." Bekah put out her hands. "You know what? Why don't you guys look through that folder and make sure to mark the dates on the calendar for February."

Dave smirked at Bekah's flustered appearance and got up to follow her back to the living room. "I don't know if they're going to hug me or call the travel agency and try to cancel our order," Bekah whispered. She put her head on his shoulder. "Maybe we should have waited to give that to them," she sighed.

"Oh, they loved it. They just don't understand how they got so lucky to have you, Rebekah. Now, what happened to that sit in front of the fireplace and make out under the mistletoe for the rest of the day?"

"I didn't say 'the rest of the day.'"

"You basically did," he argued. "Have you had enough of me?"

"Not going to lie, Dave," Bekah confessed as she leaned back on the couch, "I'm a little sad that I only get one lifetime with you."

"One lifetime isn't enough, but this week is dragging! Come on Saturday!" he whispered and raised his fist in the air.

Bekah turned when she saw the side door open. She leaned forward as Joe walked in and raised the folder with his travel information into the air for him to take. He stopped, opened it, read the first page, ran around the couch, and picked her up. "Thank you!" he exclaimed and twirled her around.

Bekah laughed and squealed. "You're welcome, Joe! Have the best time!"

Joe placed her down on Dave's lap and ran over to show his parents the plans he'd received. Bekah and Dave had made sure to include passes to both zoos and several other sites they could enjoy while in San Diego.

Bekah looked at Dave and smiled. "Now that's the reaction I was hoping for."

"Tonight, remind

me

to pick you up and twirl you around," he teased softly into her ear. Bekah got chills and goosebumps down her arms.

"For sure," she confirmed and looked into his eyes. He put his hand on the back of her neck and kissed her deeply.

"I love you, Rebekah. More every day."

"Same, David. So much," she assured him. "Do you want to make dinner together?"

"Yeah. What are we having?"

"Don't know yet," Bekah responded as she stood up. "But we'll figure it out." She leaned in closer and bent down to whisper in his ear. "There's gonna be a lot of that for us soon. Unknown territory. Unknown acts of passion. Don't know what we'll be doing, but we'll figure it out together. And I can't wait." She kissed his ear and then his cheek and then gave him the lightest little kiss on the lips.

"Torture," he whispered back.

"Ain't it great?" she teased. "Let's go." He got up and joined her to walk to the kitchen and to decide on dinner.

Joe disappeared for the evening. Mom and Dad spent the evening looking up their Hawaiian vacation spot. Dave and Bekah went to his bedroom early and put in a couple hours playing video games. They laughed and talked like always, carefree and playful. When Dave put down his controller, he put his head back on the seat and turned to look at her.

"I've missed this," Dave commented and reached out to take her hand.

"I had a feeling, but we could have played every night. Why didn't you say anything?"

"Oh, don't get me wrong. I prefer that," he noted as he pointed back at the bed and smiled, "but it's nice to chill together. No worries. No hesitations. No responsibilities. Just games." Bekah nodded at him and smiled. Then Dave continued. "But I do need to ask you something."

"What's up?"

"Was today the last day?"

"For what?"

"Your period," he clarified.

"Yeah, why?"

"Because I'm tracking it. So, my question is: Are we doing that NFP thing?"

"That's what I would like." Bekah shook her head and put her own head back on her chair. "Crap," she whispered.

"What's wrong?"

"I feel like we already talked about this, so I didn't bring it up."

"You did that report for your class, and we talked a little about it, but we didn't talk about it for us."

"We did in the dream," she clarified and shook her head again. "I can't wait to get to where I don't think I already know things. I'm sorry, Dave. I want to follow that method. It works if it's followed correctly."

"I know. I read your paper. I think it's a good idea."

"You read it?"

"Yeah, it was really good, and I liked one thing you said while explaining it to me. You said when you had sex, you didn't want something between you and the person you loved. If sex is supposed to bring two people closer, why would you put something between you?"

"It's just how I feel," Bekah justified and looked at the string of Christmas lights on the window.

"I've always agreed with you," Dave offered quietly.

"We've never really talked about this before."

"We've never had a reason to discuss it, Bekah," Dave reminded her. "I don't ever want anything between us except the love we're making," he shared and squeezed her hand.

Bekah closed her eyes and smiled a little. "There it is," she whispered.

Dave got up and took his shorts to the bathroom. Bekah grabbed her shorts and waited until it was her turn. When Dave walked out, Bekah inhaled sharply as she looked at him. Was it what he'd just said to her or the fact that he was shirtless? She tried so hard to hold back, but she couldn't do it. She dropped her shorts and ran to him. As she jumped into his arms, he caught her and pressed his mouth to hers. She held his arms as he carried her effortlessly to his bed.

They touched and kissed as if they'd always been doing it. He helped her out of her shirt and closed his eyes in thanksgiving that her bra hooked in the front. "Oh, that's hot," Dave sighed as he unfastened it and took it off her.

"Just you wait," she whispered and ran her fingers through his hair as he began licking and tasting her breasts. Dave moaned as she'd said it and slid his hands up her back to bring her closer to him.

Hours later, once Dave had fallen asleep, Bekah got up and picked up her shorts. She walked into the bathroom and changed quickly so that she could join him again.

The next morning, Bekah was texted by Mom who'd gotten a call telling her the embroidery was finished and could be picked up. She texted Bekah that she was going to pick them up and would meet her at the house at 11AM.
