Claire and I were always great friends. We grew up in the same area, and our parents were family friends. As we got older, we went to different colleges and eventually grew apart. After college, I moved back to my hometown and got a normal job. One day, I was at home chilling, when I received a text from an unexpected number--it was Claire, saying that she had just moved back to our hometown and was wondering if we could meet up.
Claire was always a quiet and reserved girl--always soft-spoken, yet very thoughtful. She was very kind and sweet and deeply caring. Beyond her personality though, she was also petite and beautiful. Claire was Asian, with curly black hair and a long, slender body. Her chest wasn't the biggest, but it fit her body. While she wasn't considered "stacked" by any stretch, I always found her deeply attractive.
I was always sad that we never had the opportunity to push our friendship to a deeper (and more intimate) relationship, but I never acted on anything. Now, she had texted me asking to meet up! I sat on my couch staring at her text trying to figure out how to respond. Eventually, I found the strength to tell her that I was down to meet up, and we went back and forth and settled on meeting up for dinner in 2 days.
*** 2 Days Later ***
Claire and I met for dinner at a local restaurant. I arrived wearing a solid t-shirt and jeans, and she was wearing a cute green top with a nice black skirt that ended a few inches above her knees.
We exchanged pleasantries and ate our meal, sharing all of the stories over the past few years that we never got to share with each other. As the night went on, Claire grew quiet, and then took a long pause to think. I always loved her thinking face. After the pause, she spoke up, "Hey Matt, can I tell you something?"
"Of course," I replied.
"So...I've kinda always had a crush on you. I've just been scared to tell you, because I was worried about 'messing up' our friendship."
I could see the worry in Claire's eyes as she confessed that she was attracted to me. I could completely understand her fear--I was scared of ruining our friendship in the past.
I simply smiled at her and responded, "I've been waiting for you to tell me that."
I could see her shoulders immediately relax, as a smile came over her face. I told her how I always found her attractive, and how I always wanted to be with her.
We finished our dinner, and on the way out of the restaurant, I decided to take a chance. "Do you want to come over to hang out more?" I asked Claire.
"Mm, I would like that," Claire responded with a smile.
We each drove to my house, arriving at the same time. I got out of my car and walked to Claire's car. I opened her car door to help her out of her car. As she got out of her car, I noticed that Claire had a different look in her eye. She seemed confident, and her eyes had a sparkle that was out of the ordinary. Once out of her car, Claire looked into my eyes and then gently spoke, "I want to kiss you now."
I could feel a level of excitement that I haven't felt in a long time, and I immediately responded to her comment by bringing my lips to hers. Claire wrapped her arms around my upper back, while I brought my hands up to her face, hands tangling in her curly hair, as we kissed deeply. After taking a break to come up for air, we giggled to each other and ran inside my house.
