Bryan was a frequent patron of the local library. He had made it his personal goal to read through the "American classics" such as "The Scarlet Letter" by Nathaniel Hawthorne and "The Sun Also Rises" by Ernest Hemingway. Over time he had begun to form a friendship with Chloe, who worked the front desk of the library. He often enjoyed stopping and chatting with her about the latest book he read. When they would talk, his eyes would sometimes linger upon her. He admired the wildness of her curly obsidian locks. Her playful smile seemed to call to his lips for a kiss. Her black sweater hugged her breasts closely. Though concealing them, it couldn't hide the shapeliness of her feminine body.
Chloe would sometimes notice Bryan's eyes travel when they spoke and would rub her pencil nervously against her lips. She had always been rather shy, so when a man noticed her in a sexual way, it made her feel both anxious and excited. It didn't help her nerves that she was very attracted to Bryan. Most guys seemed so stupid to her, but Bryan always had something smart to say and appreciated her intelligent opinion on classic books. Though embarrassed to admit it, she found his body desirable too. Her eyes would sometimes trace his broad shoulders, or the muscles on his arms when he would reach up on the shelves for a book.
Bryan walked up to Chloe to check out a couple of books by Mark Twain. He set them down on the front desk and Chloe picked them up one at a time. "Great choices Bryan," she said, "Twain's social commentary and wit is on full display in these books."
"We will have to have one of our book discussions when I'm done with them," he said, "What have you been reading lately?"
Chloe blushed and replied, "I'm actually reading something a bit...outside of the intellectual field."
"What is it?" he asked.
Chloe reached nervously into the desk and pulled out a book. She handed it to Bryan, and he read the title. "I Want You." His eyes widened and he looked up at her, their eyes meeting. Chloe's blush reddened her face even more.
"What made you pick this book?" Bryan asked, his eyes searching hers.
