(Author's note: Firstly, thank you all for reading and voting for part 1. The comments section and reviews I received, helped me a lot in gauging how everyone felt. Sorry for the delay in part 2. It's been hard to take out time to write. I also wanted to make it worth the wait :p . The story continues exactly from where part 1 ends, so it would be wise to read that first, although I guess new readers could also join up at this point, if they really want to dive in to the action. Keep the comments and feedback coming! Read on!)
Chapter 1 - A Reflective spell
John shaved off the last bit of remaining foam from his chin and washed his face. He stared into the mirror and thought back on the events of the previous night. He had blurted out the dreaded three words to a student in his class. Just the mere thought brought a squirm on his face.
"How stupid can you be? You don't even know anything about her properly! You are not even dating her for fucks sake! You love her? You LOVE her!? Seriously!?" John was admonishing himself in his mind as he wiped his face with a towel.
"It's just...infatuation. You're a married guy who had phone sex with an attractive younger woman because you were a little horny. That's it! Nothing more! It can easily be stopped. Just avoid her for a few days and go and explain this to your wife. Susan will understand for sure," John mentally counseled himself as he wore his office clothes. After making peace with his recent actions on the way to work, John was able to get through the day with the determination of telling his wife the complete truth in the evening. He left early from work to surprise her with some flowers he picked up from a shop near his office.
Sophia stepped out of the shower with a towel wrapped around her. She wiped her arms first and then legs before checking herself out in the mirror. She wasn't usually the kind of person who would admire her own body but she had incentive to look good these days. For a certain someone. She smiled as her eyes followed her lean body to her smooth legs. She knew that that was one place he loved to look at when they would play tennis together. That fact excited her.
Sophia recalled the previous night and how good it felt when she orgasmed to John's name at the end of the phone conversation. She had never had phone sex before. She never thought it would be exciting without actually being with her partner. She was happy she was wrong. As Sophia put her arms into the gaps in her bra, she wondered if she had said "I love you" too soon.
"No. There's no such rule, you know! I said it coz I felt it. And I really do love him at this point. What he's done for me and the way I feel for him is truly something special. There's no point in analyzing feelings," Sophia comforted herself as she stepped into her underwear and pulled it up to her waist.
She knew he had a wife. She knew she might not have a practical future together with John. She knew he might cut off the ties between them at any moment. But she didn't want to think about these things.
"All your life you've done the smart thing; the logical thing! It hasn't worked out, has it? Maybe it's time to do something the old Sophia wouldn't do: something driven more by emotion and not rationality!" Sophia convinced herself as she buttoned up her shirt to the top. She looked at her reflection once again before deciding to unbutton the topmost button. A hint of her cleavage could be seen. She smiled to herself and turned around to proceed to college. She liked the new Sophia.
Sophia saw the sun set as professor Bailly wrapped up the class. John hadn't messaged her the whole day. She had texted him a "Heyyy...Whats up?" in the morning for which there was still no response.
As she stepped out of the class and walked towards the exit, her mind pondered upon the reasons for such behavior. Had the time to cut off their ties already come according to John? Or was he just busy with work and had her in her thoughts the way she had him in hers? She racked her brain all along the route back home and finally decided on a course of action.
John stood in the center of his living room. He had flowers in one hand and his bag in the other but his eyes were transfixed at a letter opened up in front of him on the table.
"John, I'm going to my mother's for a few days. I need some time to myself. I think it will be better for both of us. Love, Susan"
John didn't know what to be more frustrated about. The fact that he had come home early with a bouquet and a heart full of promise or that Susan's farewell letter was cruelly short and non-descriptive.
He threw the bouquet to the side and removed his clothes. He needed a shower. Before entering the bathroom, he checked his phone's inbox.
"John, I'm really worried. Can you please reply or call me back? Whatever it is, we can talk about it"
He closed his phone and entered the shower. It was one of those long showers where John thought things through.
"How ironic it is that these words of concern and affection come from someone who was a complete stranger a few months ago and not the person I have made a lifelong vow with?"
Ch.2 - An Arduous Affair
John smirked to himself as he returned to that last thought. He was out of the shower with just a towel around his hip when he heard the doorbell ring. He assumed it would be a salesman and deemed it okay for him to attend the door in his current attire.
"Hi John," Sophia spoke in a rather soft voice as she saw John's face behind the door. 'Soph!' John was in shock as he saw the girl he was just thinking about, right in front of him," How did you find my house?"
"Can I come in or are you busy?" Sophia asked as she followed her gaze over his naked torso.
"No, no. Come in. I just came out of the shower," John locked the door as Sophia entered and offered her a seat in the hall.
He noticed Sophia looking around the house and interrupted her, "Susan isn't home." "Oh! That's not what I was looking for but...err...okay!" Sophia stammered not knowing what to continue with.
John thought he would be mad. He wanted to confess to his wife badly an hour ago. But he found himself staring at Sophia from top to bottom. All he could think of was how gorgeous she looked and how kind and caring her voice sounded. Before he knew it, John was drawn into Sophia's charm and it was a fact Sophia could notice clearly.
"Errr.... I'm sorry I didn't reply. Was kinda busy at work today," John lied.
"Its okay, John."
After a brief pause between the two, Sophia continued, "You have a really nice body, you know."
"I guess I need to strip down completely to match your level of hotness!" John laughed out as Sophia joined in unison.
