She had been looking forward to this night for weeks. Raising their children was a labor of love, and one they committed to with humor and humility, but they were missing their time together and the magic of being the romantic couple they were. J had planned the evening, finding a special event the orchestra had planned for the holidays. Dinner, a concert, and a night away in a fancy hotel was just what they deserved.
M settled the three boys in with their legos, then went to their room to finish getting ready. She removed her clothes and rubbed herself down with her favorite lavender lotion. She pulled on a sheer thong, one she knew J would want to remove with his teeth later, and then looked in the mirror for a moment before pulling out the dress she bought especially for the evening. She had hesitated trying it on, worried that the curves and angles her body had accumulated with pregnancy would stand out awkwardly. But surprisingly, they only accentuated the low cut of the dress and the peak of cleavage that she knew would drive J wild. She slid the dress on, then secured the necklace he had surprised her with before he left for work that day. She swept her hair behind her ears and checked her favorite earrings before walking out to say goodbye to the babysitter and her kids.
"Wow, mommy. You look like a superhero" the youngest one commented as they watched M walk toward the door. She kneeled down to kiss him and remind him to listen to the rules, then walked outside and drove to meet J at the symphony.
J was waiting for her at the entrance. M had teased him with the description of the dress, but seeing her in the flesh was something else. She was more beautiful than ever, and when she caught eyes with him and smiled, he nearly came and melted at the same time.
"Hi handsome" she cooed as she took his hand and kissed him.
"Wow. Can we skip straight to the part where I ravish you senseless?"
