A New Friend Part 1
1 - A Passing Glance
I was sitting in the cafe across the road from her. I'd seen her many times before and even said hello a few times. You know a polite nod that she'd returned. There was something about her that drew me in. Not a sexual, or physical attraction, but more a personal buzz. I simply liked her. I had no answer or explanation. I was happily married to Chris and had a wonderful 18 year old daughter Claire. I didn't need complications and that's why I wasn't worried about my attraction to her.
Attraction, that's the right word, I think, but I couldn't place why. Looking at her from here, she wasn't a man at all, completely different from what normally draws my attention. She wasn't a broad shoulder, tall, strong man. She didn't have a bulge that had me wondering. She certainly wasn't what usually drew more than a casual glance. And I think that's partly what was intriguing to me. I had plenty of other female friends but there was something I couldn't put my finger on that had my focus.
Since I'd spotted her a few weeks ago when walking down this road I'd almost done a double take. Maybe it was that first smile that we exchanged. Maybe it was her apparent job. I think she was some kind of prostitute. It was 6 pm, dark outside as it was October, she wasn't alone on this street. Every now and then there was another woman, just standing there or walking around. Some then went off in cars after a quick discussion and others walked arm in arm to a hotel down the road. She was no different, I'd seen her vanish for a while and then come back or sometimes I'd not seen her come back.
The first time I'd worked out what her job was, I was slightly surprised and confused. She was well built and pretty, she didn't need to whore herself out. Did she?
Today she wasn't here when I arrived so I couldn't give her my usual smile and nod. But a few minutes ago she arrived. She was now standing in her usual space, she'd not seen me as I was across a wide road in the coffee shop window nursing my drink before I headed home. This had become a new ritual for me, finishing work, taking this detour to get my car, that ended up in this coffee shop. I couldn't do it every day but I must have done this at least 15 times so far. And I'd seen her every one of them.
I liked her get-up today, it was classy, sexy. Different from the other women. She had knee length boots with a nice heel, tights or stockings on her legs. Her dark red skirt showing off plenty of thigh uncovering a tattoo on her left. Her jacket hid her top today as it was cold out there, but I knew it would be a t-shirt of some sort. She always wore smart, tight t-shirts. She had nice boobs, pretty big on her small frame. Her boobs were a really nice shape, very high set, filling her bras. I was a little jealous, I had to admit.
She always did her makeup subtle and her blond hair was always smart in a bob. Her legs were thin with just enough muscle on them, her hips narrow, she was elegant. This lady was a classy hooker, in my book.
I was just about to leave and head to the car when I spotted her crossing the road towards me. I felt my heart flutter as she started to draw closer. She hadn't made eye contact with me. I mean why would she, she didn't know me. I drew a sharp intake of breath when she opened the door and walked into the coffee shop, passing within a few feet of me.
In navigating the door she had to turn to face into the room and towards me. I watched her eyes scan the room quickly and yes they stopped on me. Maybe it was because I was staring directly at her or maybe she recognised me from the odd time I'd passed her. I quickly bowed my head, having been caught looking at her. I felt like a silly teenage girl with a crush. But it was a crush that didn't make sense. I wasn't getting turned on looking at her, what was going on?
When I looked up she wasn't in the doorway, I breathed a sigh of relief. Quickly looking around the shop I could see her in the small queue, her back to me. That allowed me to make another discovery, on the back of the neck she had a pretty rose tattoo. I turned back to look out the window, I didn't want to get caught staring again.
A few moments later I needed to get going or I'd get the worried text from Chris asking if I was ok. Dropping from my stool, I straightened out my skirt, it was a lot looser and longer than hers. Popping my cup into the recycling bin I headed to the door. My turn to pivot as I opened it. This way I'd have another chance to look across to her.
The door in my left hand as I pulled it open, my body was now able to turn to look into the room. My eyes darted towards the queue. She was in the collection area and looking straight at me. I froze as our eyes locked. Time froze as I watched her smile at me, I nervously returned it. I noticed her eyes drop for a microsecond to my chest. This wasn't unusual for me, people always check out the huge bumps in my clothes. However, when her eyes met mine again she raised an appreciative eyebrow.
That completely flustered me. I for sure blushed, and smiled back, acknowledging that I'd seen her signal. I couldn't then hold the gaze and I scurried out of there as fast as my legs could hold me.
All the way home, my heart was beating faster than normal as I replayed our interaction over and over.
2 - First Contact
It was 5.20 pm as I was walking with the other commuters heading home. One of the hordes until I turned off for the highlight of my day. It was a complete detour from my destination and quite a long one at that, but I had even more reason to do it now after yesterday.
As I reached her usual area, I wasn't un-surprised to not see her there. That was often the way this started. I did however hope that she was ok and not ill. Reaching the coffee shop I put my hand on the door handle to pull it open and froze. There she was. Sitting on the front window bench near to where I usually sit. She was in the window, on her own, with a cup in front of her.
She was here for me. I instantly felt my heart start to race.
This was a change to my routine, this put us into direct contact. I nearly walked straight past, unsure I could carry out this awkward situation. The door was opening as someone was coming out. I also realised that I was a grown woman, I could say hello to her or at the very least exchange another smile.
I walked into the shop, managed to not make eye contact with anyone except the server. Now I had my drink and I had a decision to make. Do I take it straight out and drink it on the way home? Do I sit in the middle of the shop, something I'd never done before? Do I take a seat in the window with a little gap between us? Or do I go bold and sit right next to her?
Wobbly legs got me there and with shaking hands I ended up doing something very out of character for me as I hopped onto the stool right next to her. She turned to look at her new companion right away. Her smile was so huge that I couldn't help but return it.
She extended her right hand, "Hi." I spotted that she had a heart tattoo on her thumb, on other fingers there were block letters L-O-V-E.
I took it and shook it lightly, it was warm and soft. Our first physical touch. It was pleasant and not the electric shock that I expected. I nodded my head to her, "Good evening."
Our hands separated, "Cindy," and she nodded.
"I'm Emily, lovely to meet you."
"Likewise."
There was then an eerie silence between us before she broke it with a thankful "It's cold out there tonight, thought I'd warm up a little."
"Yes, winter is well and truly on its way."
She then surprised me with what I thought was an overly friendly, "A cold body is never fun." Her raised pierced eyebrow told me that she was talking about her customers and how her being cold to them wouldn't feel nice.
I wasn't sure how to respond to that. I'd never spoken to anyone about sex related stuff. I mean I'd obviously had sex before and I loved it. Chris and I still did it a few times a week when we were in the mood. I actually think my sex drive has overtaken his recently. I was pleased with that at 39, I still got horny, a lot. I'd had a kid, so yup I knew all about sex. I then realised how nuts my self talk was and how I'd now left a gap in our conversation. Quickly trying to fill it, "Oh I know."
I instantly realised how that sounded. I didn't know how it felt to be a hooker at all. I blushed and spluttered an apology of sorts, "Oh I don't mean that I know, what.."
She laughed, saving me from myself, her hand resting on mine on the counter. "You're a doll."
I blushed at her compliment. She lifted her cup and emptied it. My heart sank as I knew what that meant, she confirmed, "Well, I need to get back out there."
I nodded and she slid off the stool, the move causing her skirt to ride a little higher, I couldn't help but notice more of her thigh appeared. She caught my eye line and grinned at me, striking a pose, asking me, "You think I'm ok?"
I spluttered a "Ohhh goddd, yes," with way too much enthusiasm.
She picked up on it and laughed again as she moved past me, "Lovely to meet you, Emily."
As she reached the door, I replied, "You too, Cindy," managing to hold back my brain that wanted to add, 'Have a fun time.'
She nodded and left, crossing the road and standing in her spot. I watched her adjust her clothes a little, I guess to make sure she looked good. She did, I'd just told her that. I smiled to myself watching her prepare for her evening of sex. Strangely I hadn't really thought much about it. Where did they go? How much did she charge? What was it like? How many did she have in one night?
Within a few minutes she had a short man approach her and they soon left together. More questions bounced around in my head, but it was time for me to head back home. My work day was done, family time called.
3 - Sharing the News
I felt nervous as I told Chris, "Met a new friend today."
He barely looked up from his iPad, "Yer?" We were sitting in the living room, tea was done and put away. Claire was out, the TV was on but we were both with our heads in our personal devices.
I wasn't sure why I was telling him about her or what I was going to say. I mean she wasn't really even a friend at this stage. However I felt the need to share it with him. We'd never had secrets and this felt like one that I'd had bubbling for a while. I needed to get it out. "Yer Cindy, I met her after work."
He looked up and smiled at me, "Cool," then he dropped his head back down.
I took a breath, "I think she's a hooker."
His head shot up, his eyes instantly wild with interest, "Eh?"
I nodded, "Yer."
"What the? How'd you ...?" He almost leaned forward in interest.
