Taming a Brat Ch. 10
Owen
Something woke me out of deep sleep and I turned to grab Olivia to bring her close to me, but the bed was empty. I furrowed my brows. I opened my eyes fully and looked around the dark room, trying to find the source of the sound that woke me. It sounded strange.
I rolled out of bed, feet landing firmly on the warm carpet. I almost stepped on her it was so dark. I looked down and there was Olivia, curled into a ball and sobbing into her hands.
"Baby, baby, what's wrong?"
I scooped her into my arms and she struggled against them, pushing away. I held tight and didn't let her get away from me, as much as she tried.
"Olivia, baby, what is it, honey?" I soothed, stroking her hair.
"You're a liar!" she screamed.
"What are you talking about, Olivia? Please?" I begged her.
She looked up at me then, looking disheveled and a mess. Her hair was tangled and her face was swollen and red from crying. My dick hardened despite it all and I cursed myself. I liked seeing her cry. That disturbed me and made my cock only harder. What was wrong with me?
She shoved my phone into my hand and tried again to crawl out of my lap. I held on tight while scrolling through messages, assuming it had to be a message that made her this way. But from who? I opened the message from Leanne and blanched. Then I opened the one from Jody and I almost passed out.
I pushed Olivia off my lap and headed to the bathroom to take a scalding hot shower. I was in shock and couldn't wrap my head around this.
Why now? Why at all?
I stripped and robotically turned on the shower and sat on the bench, angling the shower head to hit me from there.
The shower doors slid open and in came Olivia, crawling onto my lap and trying to soothe me. She had stopped crying and took on my role and I let her. I didn't know what else to do or say or even think.
"I'm so sorry, Olivia. I have no idea where this is coming from. I'm not a liar," I whispered into her hair.
"I know, I'm sorry I acted that way. It just really scared me," she admitted.
"It's scaring me too," I chuckled. I had to laugh, this was so insane.
We eventually stood and washed each other silently, getting out and dressing in our pajamas. We jumped back into bed and she lay on my chest as I rubbed her back. I think we both wanted to ignore the whole thing and just get some sleep. We would deal with it in the morning.
When morning came, Olivia was gone again and I jumped up searching for her immediately. I trailed downstairs and found her making coffee, already dressed and ready for the day.
"Let's head to the club after coffee?" I had never seen her look so serious and pissed off. She was determined to solve this when I just wanted to ignore it.
I had been looking for Jody for so long and wanted nothing more than to find her. But now, I didn't want anyone other than Olivia. I was pissed she chose this timing of all times. Why now? I gritted my teeth and felt a flash of anger myself.
I clenched my jaw, a tick forming. "Sure, let's get this over with."
We drank our coffee in silence and washed our mugs after. We both turned and looked at each other, staring for a moment before sighing and heading out the door.
"I don't know what to expect but let's just both keep our cool, okay?"
"I'll try," she whispered.
I smiled to myself, knowing she was going to be protective over me, it was endearing, to say the least. But I was also slightly worried she would fly off the handle. I pursed my lips and hoped for the best.
We pulled into the club's parking lot and found my personal space at the front of the building. I let Olivia out of the car and she took my hand, holding it tight as we walked into the club. Before we walked in through the front doors, I turned to Olivia and took her other hand.
"Baby, I care about you a lot, I just need you to know that. No matter what happens, we still have our dynamic, our rules, and each other. Okay?"
She nodded and took a deep breath. I put my hands on her shoulders and told her to take a deep breath. Her breathing became less shallow and her shoulders relaxed a bit. It was good enough for now. I took her hand again and we walked into the club, seeing Leanne first at the hostess stand where Olivia usually stood. We walked to her and her eyes grew wide. She rushed over to us, looking panic-stricken.
"You brought Olivia?" she said in a harsh whisper.
"Of course I did. Where is she?" My heart thudded in my chest.
"At the bar, she's been here since last night and I have to warn you, she's inebriated. We almost kicked her out, but she claims to know you. Like, really know you."
"Owen? Is that you?!" her voice cut through my subconscious, the same voice but different from so many years before.
Olivia, Leanne, and I both looked in the same direction. A small woman with blonde hair and blue eyes simpered over to where we were standing and reached out for me. I hesitated, taking a step backward. Olivia stayed put. Jody looked at our interlocked hands with confusion and looked up with furrowed brows.
"Who is this?" she breathed.
"I'm Olivia, Owen's sub. Who are you?" she said scathingly, making even me cringe.
"I'm Jody, his girlfriend," she retorted in a small voice.
