Author's notes: I want to personally thank LinsdayMurray, who wrote How to Tame a Brat (Which is now Ashes of Sin and Stardust.) and inspired me to write Taming a Brat. This is a fanfiction piece and there are plenty of similarities as well as differences. I hope you enjoy chapter 4 of this series and I also hope you leave a comment and rating. Like I mentioned in chapter 1, I am a comment whore. I love your feedback, as it helps me become a better writer. What did you like and dislike? Let me know and I will respond as well.
This chapter is really short, but good all the same. I hope you all are starting to become invested in Owen and Olivia's journey, as I am.
Enjoy. 😊
Chapter 4
Owen
I had reached the airport on time, but due to some bad weather my flight was cancelled. The earliest flight was the next day. So, I had no other option but to go back to West House and get work done from there. I had to roll with the delay and made several calls on the way back, cancelling, and rescheduling meetings and such. We had a sister organization in Portland, and they were in desperate need of assistance. Not being able to make it on time was really screwing things up.
I was almost there when my cell rang, I answered to Kat's frantic voice. She was never frantic.
"Slow down, what's the matter?"
I turned around and sped up, heading to the club instead on instinct.
"It's Thomas! He's here trying to take Olivia."
I told her to keep him there at all costs and sped even up even faster. I made it there and hopped out of my car, leaving it running. I sprinted to the front doors and swung them open so hard, the glass almost shattered.
Thomas had his hands on Olivia, trying to pull her from the bar and to the front doors. My bouncers were surrounding him, blocking him in. But why was no one getting him off her? I pushed past the onlookers and bouncers, reaching Thomas. I cocked my arm back and punched him square in the nose. It burst like a water balloon, squirting blood everywhere.
Olivia screamed. Thomas let go of her and staggered backwards, almost falling on his ass. I grabbed Olivia and pulled her to me, pushing her behind me and looking for Kat. She was there in an instant and took Olivia away and upstairs. She fought her, wriggling out of her grip, and running over to Thomas. My heart sunk. Was she going to help him?
Is she still in love with him
?
She reached him and punched him in the stomach. I gawked, watching her. She threw another punch at the side of his head; he narrowed his eyes and cocked his hand back as if to hit her back. I intervened and pushed Olivia back behind me and yelled for Kat to fucking grab her. I pushed Thomas in the chest when he tried to hit me instead. I looked back at the bouncers. "Get him out,
now.
I'm calling the police."
The bouncers grabbed hold of both his arms and dragged him out, screaming. Club members were buzzing, phones out taking videos, or hands over mouths in shock. I ran a hand through my stiff hair and pulled my phone out. I dialed 911 and walked over to the bar for a drink while I waited. I ordered a stiff one and sipped liberally.
When the cops showed up, I explained to them what happened, including his priors. The only thing he was technically guilty of was breaking his restraining order. So, they took him down to the station, but he would be out in less than 48 hours most likely. I knew how these things went, usually shitty. The "justice system" proved weak and broken time after time.
They hauled Thomas away and I sighed heavily, my heart rate still high. I wasn't ready to face Olivia yet, so I sat at the bar and drank more. Once I had a good buzz, I finally got up and walked upstairs to find Kat and Olivia.
