What started out as a friendly flirtation: grew into casual sex. What started out as casual sex: grew into a tainted romance. A romance tainted with lies, lust, greed, and pain. What started out as a tainted romance: grew into a distorted reality of desire - a game of pure give and take, and take and take. Where, when it comes to loving someone we break not only the rules, but ourselves. Love isn't about selfishness; love is about selflessness.

Andrea gave him a call. Old friends call each other to have drinks right? She still had his number saved since their sophomore year of college. She hadn't needed to use it since her then, but even now - when college was out - why not have a little fun? She looked hot tonight. She was single and, frankly bored. She wasn't about to let her confidence go to waste only because she had no other plans - unless you count Plans B - grocery store pinot noir and cuddling with Coco her french bulldog on her bed as she watched Criminal Minds reruns until ungodly hours of the night. It rang three times before James picked up.
"Hello...?" His voice was distant, but warm and familiar.
"James, it's Andrea. Andrea O'Dae..."
"Andrea, wow. How are you?"
"Fine thanks. Umm, would you want to get a few drinks with me tonight - just to catch up? It's been a while."
"I'd like that."
"Perfect. Meet me at The Dandelion in a half hour?"
"I'll be there." She could hear him smile - if that was possible - as she ended the call.
Andrea ran her fingers through her auburn shoulder length waves, she couldn't help but smile herself. She decided on her black and white strapless dress; floaty top and the narrow the waist that cut just beneath her toned thighs. She touched up her mascara and glossed her lips with her favorite melon lip glaze, peep-toed black pumps and a gold chain put everything together. She left apartment giddy. How did she do it exactly? Maybe she was just that good. It was a short walk down to The Dandelion, it was almost too easy to stroll in like she owned the place - flashing a flirty smile to the Mediterranean hostess with his melting brown stare and defined pecs. She took the center seat ordered a vodka soda with lemon and patiently waited for James.
"Andrea?" She turned and there he was in all his glory. His face soft and a look so haunting her heart stopped.
"James, so good to see you." Taking full advantage of his friendly embrace.
He nodded. "It's not everyday beautiful women call me on the phone." He whispered.
