Lily sat at her desk, looking out the window, totally bored! She knew she should finish typing up the letter her boss wanted to send to his old childhood buddy.
"This is nuts! It's
his
friend! He should just send it handwritten, or type it up himself!"
At work, Lily was all business. This was
not
business. But she went back to typing like a good little girl. Actually, this isn't the first time she's done this for her boss. Or the second. Or the... Lily lost count! She liked her boss. Nice, easy going, but felt he was a bit immature even though he had a little more than 10 years on her, being in his 50's. But, he was new to being a boss, having only been running "Daddy's" company since the old guy passed away 5 years ago. Her boss does an O.K. job, but hasn't "brought anything new to the table" as they say. As Lily finished typing, Mr. King came up to her desk.
"Oh, is that my letter? Well, I won't be needing it now! Ahhaha! Clay just phoned me, he's flying in for the 4
th
. Said he can't wait to be back in the old neighborhood for a good fireworks display! You'll love him, real great guy! Says he'll rent a car and meet me here, tomorrow, after he's done with customs and all. Man! Can't wait to see him! Been like... well, not since my "Old Man" past away."
Lily was about to respond, when Mr. King just went back into his office. She thought that he didn't want her to see how upset he was by remembering the funeral. But just then, as his office door closed, she could hear Mr. King yelling,
"Yes! Clay is coming! Woo-hoo!"
Lily sighed and looked at the clock. The clock that seemed to slow down as she kept staring at it.
"50 minutes to go till freedom! Then, we get to do it all over again tomorrow. What joy!" Lily couldn't help but giggle at her sarcastic tone.
~~
On her drive home, she found herself thinking about her boss' friend Clay. Wondering what he was like. Mr. King talked about him all the time. About the things they had done when they were kids, in school, college. The girls they dated. She knew that was inappropriate talk for the workplace, but she couldn't help being intrigued by some of the stories.
There was one, especially, that had made Lily tingle a little in the bottom of her stomach. Like when you drive down a hill real fast. Nothing much was said in the story, but it sure had Lily aching with wonder. She tried to recall her boss' words.
"Oh, and on this one date Clay and I doubled on in college... these two girls,
sisters
, MAN! SMOKIN'! Anyway, the one I was with, eh, pretty tame.
But Clay's, WHEW! She was a
bad girl
if you know what I mean?! But, that's O.K. Clay knew how to
take care
of those! And he did,
frequently
! Ahhaha!"
And that's when the tingling started, with her boss's emphasis of the words "bad girl", "take care of" and "frequently". She didn't quite understand what it all meant, but for some reason, it excited her. She just hoped Mr. King didn't notice.
Even now, remembering the story, Lily can feel the tingling. Only, this time, it was a little lower down than her stomach.
Friday morning came too soon. Lily was tired. She stayed up awfully late watching the stupidest movie. But she couldn't make herself turn off the T.V. and go to bed. Even though she and her boyfriend had been broken up for 2 years, Lily just couldn't get used to sleeping alone. Rex was a very nice guy, sweet. Sometimes, t
oo
sweet. When they fought, Lily could feel the anger rising from her toes and up through her body and settle in her face, making it all red and hot. Rex, he just let out a breath that he didn't even appear to be holding, and would say something like...
"Lily, you're right." or "Lily, you're way
is
better. I know that now." or "Lily, I'm sorry, it
is
my fault."
This just infuriated Lily further! Not because Rex said this to get her to stop arguing, not because he was just trying to please her, but Lily felt he
actually
believed she
was
right, that
her
way
was
better, that he thought all their fights
were
his
fault! Lily's friends thought she was crazy for dumping Rex.
"He
worships
you! Like a
princess
!" said JoyAnn, her best friend, "Do you know how many woman would
kill
for that?!"
Lily had just sighed, "I know. And it was sweet, in the beginning. But... I'm not a princess! And sometimes... I... I would rather be treated like... one of the
peasants
! No, one of the
slaves
!"
As soon as Lily said that, she wanted to take it back. That wasn't right.
She did
not
want to be treated like a slave.
"Are you serious?!!" exclaimed Joyann, whose eyes went wide. She was as shocked to hear that word as Lily was.
"No, I'm not. Not really. Not a slave. But definitely not a princess either. Not
all
the time."

Lily walked into the office, set her purse in her desk drawer, and went to make a pot of coffee. Just as she was about to dump the coffee into the filter, she thought she heard laughter coming from Mr. King's office.
But he didn't usually come in till around 8 or 8:30 a.m.
Lily thought and went up to his door to listen.
The door was open just enough for Lily to see a very handsome man, who looked to be in his mid to late 50's, sitting on the edge of Mr. King's desk. She couldn't hear his voice. It was too soft. But he must have been telling a joke, or a funny story, because soon she heard a bellow of laughter that she recognized as her boss'. Just then, the handsome man's eyes locked with hers. He stood up, said something, and then the door
flew
open!
"Lily! Excellent!" exclaimed Mr. King and signaled her to enter the room. "I would like you to meet my very best, and oldest friend, Clay. He was actually calling from the plane, on his way here, when we spoke yesterday! Got in late last night! Sneaky bastard!" Mr. King laughed and punched Clay on the arm. Clay looked slightly amused, but still hadn't taken his eyes off of Lily. He stepped toward her, holding out his hand in greeting, and in a soft voice said, "Hello Lily. It's nice we finally meet. I've been hearing a lot about you."
"All
good
I hope?" Lily smiled and shook his hand. It was soft too, but very firm. There was a spark when they touched, they both felt it. They felt this heat, yet both shivered.
"Yes, and that
is
a shame!" This time, when Clay spoke, Lily thought she
almost
heard a growl in his voice. And what did he mean by "that
is
a shame?" She felt that tingle again. And, again, not in her stomach.
"Well Lily, great news! No work today! Breakfast! Hope you haven't eaten yet?" Mr. King grinned when Lily informed them she hadn't. Clay, who was still holding Lily's hand, smiled. And Lily was in love. No, she wasn't. That's silly! She's barely met this man! Lily's heart let out a sigh. And she thought, I bet that soft, firm, hand would feel nice holding her breast! His thumb, grazing over her nipple, ever so lightly. Pinching the nipple, getting it nice and har...
"Quit that!"
Lily thought to herself.
She knew she was being ridiculous. She was horny. That's all, just horny. It's been 2 years since she's had sex. Since she broke up with Rex, there hasn't been anyone.
Clay smiled at her again. In such a way, Lily thought for sure he knew what she was thinking. Her face felt hot and she knew she was blushing. Clay chuckled.
~~
Breakfast had been wonderful! It wasn't the food, although that
had
been good, the best blueberry pancakes she'd ever eaten, it was Clay. Lily couldn't get the image of his hand on her breast out of her mind. Seeing him squeeze one breast, then the other. Gently, but not
too
gently, playing with her nipples. And as Lily saw Clay about to take a bite of his pancake, she imagined that it was her nipple about to enter his mouth.
His tongue swirling around it, getting it really, really, har...
"Lily? Lily, you O.K.?" Mr. King's voice snapped Lily out of her daydream. Embarrassed, she replied,
"Yes, I was just listening!"
"Well, not very well! Clay was asking if you wanted to escort him on his trek around town tonight? I can't, got lots of paperwork I forgot about!"
"Yes, maybe take in a show? Have some dinner?
Or
..." Clay smiled as his voice trailed off.
Lily wiggled a little in her seat. She wondered what he had meant by "
or
"? Or what? And what "
paperwork
" did her boss have? There were no projects coming up, no meetings to be set up. Nothing! But, Lily didn't really care,
"Yes, I'd love to... "trek around town" with you." she was going on a date with Clay.
Clay was right on time. 7 p.m. Lily greeted him at the door wearing a raspberry-pink sundress, it looked very nice against her lightly tanned skin. Underneath, she had on her favorite, strapless, bra and matching panties. They were purple, with a purple lace and sequin butterfly in the center of each. Lily couldn't help but wonder if Clay would see them tonight. She imagined him caressing her bare shoulders. Then slowly, lowering the straps of her dress. Unbuttoning the few buttons at the top and letting the dress fall to the floor. He'd admire her standing before him. Longing to see what was hiding beneath her remaining garments.
His hands aching to touch her breasts, rub her nipples, feeling them get har...
"Lily?" Clay said, startling her back to reality.
"Yes? Sorry! Please, come in!" Lily felt her face get hot again. She really hoped Clay hadn't noticed this time.
As Clay entered the house, he handed Lily a bouquet of Tiger Lilies and Baby's breath. Lily let out a little gasp.
"These are my favorite! How did you..."
Clay, all of a sudden feeling nervous, interrupted and said,
"Joseph told me. Said he overheard you tell one of your girlfriends that your boyfriend kept giving you a different kind of flower each time you went out, when you were first dating. And you didn't have the heart to tell him you didn't care much for flowers. Except for Tiger Lilies. The orange ones. Even though pink is your second favorite color.
Next to purple." Clay smiled, but knew he'd been talking too fast.
And
