The bass from the speakers shook the table, splashing her Pepsi onto its already sticky surface "Damn it!" She sighed as she scooted her chair back and grabbed some napkins to mop up the mess.
"What's wrong Star?" Her friend Jess yelled over the tunes, "You just don't seem all here tonight. So spill girl."
Star sighed, "I don't know honey, just kinda off tonight, I think I'm gonna call it a night."
Jess shook her head, "I finally get you out of the house for the first time in a month, get you into that miniskirt and hooker heels and you're going bail on me? Girl you've got a line of guys halfway across the room begging to dance with you. What's going on with you lately, what are you hiding?"
Star smiled, "Sorry girl, I guess I've just outgrown the whole club scene, anyway I have a shift in the morning. "
Jess clapped her hands. "Did you get it?"
Star laughed and held up a tape "Yup Jamie gave me the mixes when we got here. Tomorrows show is gonna rock! Anyway hun I'm gonna jet, give me a call tomorrow." She grabbed her purse, gave Jess a quick kiss on the cheek and made her exit. Pushing the door open, she took a deep breath of the cool fresh air. "Thank god, any more of that and my brain would have vibrated right out my ears." She thought as the silence of the night washed over her. She breathed a sigh of relief.
"Hey Star, you heading home?" She glanced up at the voice and smiled at Chris. The bouncer was leaning against the wall, smoke in his hand. "You need a ride babe?"
Star blew him a kiss. "No, thanks for the offer Chris but it's only a few blocks if I cut thought the park."
He made a catching movement. "Caught and saved for later darling, you be safe."
She waved and headed out across the parking lot, her heels clicking on the concrete. She cringed. "Why did I wear these? God the things women do to look good." She pulled down her short skirt and ducked under the bar that blocked the driveway to the park.
The park was clothed in shadows; she looked around nervously and grabbed her pepper spray out of her purse. "Better safe then sorry." She whispered as she headed down the path. She shivered as a cool breeze rustled the leaves on the ground around her. "Yeah silk stockings are so not warm. Damn Jess for talking me into this outfit." Though she had to admit she looked hot. Short plaid shirt and a white lace up top that accented her cleavage nicely. Three inch heels, clicked with every step she took.
Crickets sang in the long grass on either side of the path, somewhere in the trees a screech owl called. The sounds of the night were soothing after the bass and music of the club. Crack! She stumbled, her hands breaking the fall. "Son of a bitch!" She climbed back to her feet and brushed off the hands, looking at the abrasions. "Please no blood please no blood." She whispered and looked away just in case, a little dizzy at the thought of seeing her own blood. She looked down at her shoes; sure enough one heel was bent at awkward angle. "Well shit." She sighed and hobbled over to the bench on the side of the path. Taking off her heels she wiggled her toes, smiling at the way they felt encased in silk. Her black heels were ruined, one bent, the other completely gone. "Damn, looks like I finish this barefoot." She looked around to make sure there was no one around, and stood up, not wanting to ruin her new silk stockings; she lifted her skirt and unhooked the stockings from the garter belt. She sat back down and propped one leg up on the bench and slowly slid the silk down her leg, revealing soft pale skin.
It seemed that even the crickets were watching her, and silence washed over the park. "Well I guess I could have picked a bench under a light." She thought. Sliding the other stocking off slowly, she folded them and put them in her purse. "Uh oh." She looked around, realizing that she had lost her pepper spray when she fell. A glint of silver caught her eye, lying in the grass next to where she had fallen. She put her feet down, shivering as they touched the cold ground. "Barefoot in January, oh yeah that's smart."
She began to stand up when hands closed on her shoulders, pushing her back onto the bench.
"Hello sweetheart." His voice growled in her ear.
"Darius." She breathed. She leaned her head back, her golden eyes meeting his. "How is it that his eyes stand out even in the dark?" She wondered. He leaned down and kissed her forehead. "Pity about the heels Starlight, you looked very sexy in them."
She gasped, wondering how long he had been watching her. "You do know stalking is illegal right?"
He sat down and pulled her onto his lap, his hands sliding over her legs.
He held her close. A little shocked by his actions, she just sat there trying to hold her body still against his hard chest.
He smiled. "Relax for a moment darling, this is where you belong, and I had the need to hold you." She smiled at his words, loving the contrast between this sweet side and usual dominate side he showed her.
She slowly allowed herself to relax, her eyes closing, lashes resting on her cheeks, dark against the pale skin. She sighed softly, her head resting over his heart, its steady beat almost hypnotic. "Mine." She whispered softly.
He stiffened at her soft word. She felt it and moved to look at his face, the blush rising quickly. "I...I'm sorry, I um I didn't mean that."
He smiled. "Its okay sweetheart." He stroked her hair gently. "One night every once in awhile is all I can offer you right now, maybe one day it will be more, but I can't promise that."
She blinked back tears, amazed that she felt like she did. "I can live with that. I just don't want you to leave."
He pulled her closer. "Relax sweetheart, I'm not going anywhere."
She sighed contently. "Mine" He grinned and answered "yours."
She opened her mouth to ask him a question, but before she could speak he covered her lips with his and slipped his tongue into the velvet softness, tasting her sweetness. His fingers tangled in her hair, freeing it from the clips that held it, as he pulled her head back and moved his mouth to her neck, nibbling softly. She shivered and moaned softly.
He pulled away. "Stand up sweetheart." He whispered as he stood and pulled her to her feet. She shivered as her feet met the frozen ground. He pulled her roughly against him and slanted his lips over hers. This wasn't a nice gentle kiss, this was a possession and she moaned softly as his tongue slipped into stroke hers. He broke the kiss, leaving her a little weak in the knees. "Problems standing there sweetie?" He chuckled.
She blushed and looked away. "The um, ground is cold." She whispered. He just smiled and took her hand, pulling her off the concrete path and into the darkness of the trees. The grass made a crunching sound under her bare feet. "Where are we...?" She trailed off as her feet touched hard packed dirt and she realized he was leading her onto one of the hiking paths that ran through the woods. "Hey, my house is the other way." She stopped, but he tugged on her wrist and forced her to follow him deeper into the shadows.
"Yes I know, but we are not going to your house tonight, I have other plans." He said softly. They walked a bit farther until they reached the spot where the trees opened into a small clearing, and she gasped. The open spot was ringed with candles, their flames flickering and dancing on the ground and trees. The icy ground glittering in the soft light. She looked at him, finally after all this time able to see his full features. He smiled at her and looked at the tree that stood in the center of the clearing. She followed his gaze and her breath caught at the sight of the rope hanging over a lower branch. He smiled.
"Your not going to like murder me and hang me from that tree are you?" She asked, only half joking.
He smiled and caressed her cheek. "I would never hurt you, at least not in a way you didn't enjoy. Calm down sweetheart, you trust me don't you? And you know how I want you to answer."
