Am I really doing this? That's the question that's been bouncing around my mind all day. During breakfast, in the shower, and now, climbing into the Uber that will take me to a bar I've been to many times, to meet a man I've only ever spoken to online. He's a Dom. My Dom. We first met in a BDSM chat room three years ago. For the first couple of years it was just chatting. No personal details. It felt safer to explore that way. Life took us in different directions for a while but a few months ago, we reconnected again in that same chat room. We filled each other in on the goings on of the prior few months and for the first time shared details about our real lives. This led to a deeper attraction and eventually to phone calls, FaceTime, and a strong desire to act on the needs we'd only scratched the surface of. We still talked about the kinks that originally brought us together, but now it felt more real. Now we knew the little things, like how the other takes their coffee and the brand of shampoo each prefers. The mundane mixed with the dark that began to build an intimacy neither of us had experienced before. One that would be equally happy grocery shopping together or being hog tied and spanked because I'd been a very good girl that day. We had planned for him to visit me during one of my work trips, and after several conversations, he decided to spend the week with me. I arrived late Friday night with plans to meet him for a drink the next afternoon. Now, here I sit, my Uber pulling into the parking lot of a distillery; the ten minute ride from the hotel going by in a blur.
I arrived 15 minutes early, determined to beat him. Scanning the room, I spotted him immediately - his tall frame, sandy red hair and beard with hints of grey. He was sitting at the end of the bar, engrossed in whatever baseball game was playing on TV. A smile crept across my face as I made my way towards him, my heart racing. I tapped his shoulder and Theo turned to greet me with a smile that always made me feel a little shy.
"You weren't supposed to beat me here." I said with a grin.
"I left early thinking it would take longer to walk", Theo replied. "I'm just glad you're here. It would have been a hell of a drive if you were a no-show."
"You knew I'd be here, Sir."
"I was hopeful."
The bartender, a short blonde woman in her thirties, came up to ask what we wanted to drink. I ordered a whiskey sour and he a gin and tonic. We made small talk while she mixed our drinks before taking them to a nearby table. My nerves started to kick in as we sat down. What if our connection didn't translate in person? Theo noticed my unease and called me out on it.
"Why are you so nervous? You're shaking," He noted.
"First date jitters."
"Maggie, this may be our first time meeting in person, but given our history, I'd hardly call this a first date." He said with a smile.
"TouchΓ©," I replied. "You still make me nervous."
He looked at me, his green eyes taking in every inch of me, and flashed a grin. "Let's remedy that, then."
We chatted for nearly an hour and the nerves gave way to a familiar comfort that only comes with old friends. Theo knew most of my secrets. And I knew his. Nursing our drinks, we couldn't help but laugh at the unexpected situation we found ourselves in. Who would have thought that two strangers who met in a sex chat room on the internet could lead to a real connection? Over the past 3 years we had discussed everything from sex to politics, favorite foods and hobbies, and the deepest kinks that brought us to those chat rooms in the first place. We both craved understanding and acceptance for those needs, even the darker ones, and found it in each other.
"Are you hungry?" Theo asked.
"I could eat," I replied. " There are several good restaurants a few blocks over if you want to check them out."
"Definitely," he said. Since Theo had already paid for our drinks, we grabbed our things and headed out into a hot summer evening.
Strolling through the city, it was surreal to finally be in the presence of this man I'd only known from a distance. People seem a little less real in the online world, but here we were; flesh and blood and standing right next to each other. Our bodies close enough to feel each other's body heat. We chatted easily as we found ourselves in front of a local eatery offering seasonal specials and air conditioning. As we entered, I could feel his hand on the back of my neck, igniting that familiar spark between us. For the first time, he subtly asserted his Dominance on me. Just a single touch, innocent to anyone else, but a clear signal to me that I was to follow his lead. He kept his hand on my neck as the hostess led us to our table, and I could feel the ache grow between my legs.
"You seem flustered, Maggie." Theo observed as we took our seats and opened the menus.
"I can't imagine why, Sir."
A grin spread across Theo's face as his shoulders relaxed, finally feeling at ease. I could see him settle into a role he was built for. "What do you recommend here?" He asked, scanning through the menu.
"I've heard good things about the pork," I said, casually running my foot up his calf and giving him a sly smile.
"Feeling bold today, little girl?"
"Just some harmless flirting. You wouldn't begrudge me that, would you?" I asked flirtatiously, slowly inching my foot towards his thigh.
"I suppose not. Though I wonder if I may be spoiling you."
