"What will you have?" he asked her as he himself glanced down the menu thinking of what might be good and not good.
"I'll have," she stated in her most clear firm submissive voice. At least the one she could remember. "Whatever, Master, thinks I should be eating." She smiled at him and his heart skipped a beat. Did he have her back?
He looked up at the waiter, he already knew he had to at least look like he wasn't in the least excited that she said that. "I believe we shall have," he pointed at number 9 on the menu. "I believe in this restaurant, that was your favorite." He handed both menus to the waiter.
The waiter walked away. "I see you're wearing your red bird hair pin tonight," he remarked.
"I've always liked it as I recall," she answered. "But, I can't remember why."
He reached into his pocket and removed a small box wrapped up in reddish paper. "Perhaps this will answer your question," he stated as he handed the box to her.
Her big blue eyes lit up like flaming glass. "Can I open it now?" she questioned.
"Of course, you can," he answered. He felt his own skin starting to fume. He wasn't sure how much longer he could wait to have her. She was everything, everything that made him a Master. Every word she said was like flames to his heart. He just couldn't stay away much longer.
Without even shaking the box she pulled the paper away from it and opened it. Inside she found about ten more hair pins. Each had a different animal on them. She looked at them a long time.
"Why are these familiar to me?" she finally inquired. She picked up the one with an elephant pinned on it. "This one..." She held it up. "This one is special."
The food arrived and they waited until it was all placed on the table before continuing to talk.
"Remember," Jay pointed at the steak she had on her plate. "Not to eat it to fast because it will make me sick," she finished his sentence.
He smiled and his brown eyes sparkled like falling leaves on a clear beautiful day. "Now, that's why they called us."
"The J's!" she finished his sentence again. "We think alike..."
"No, we don't think alike," he disagreed with her. "We just complete the other sometimes not in a positive way."
"But," she smiled as she took a small bite of the steak. "We match."
