Chapter 2
The Jj's
The next day wasn't much different from the day before. She got up. Got dressed and headed off to work. Something just didn't seem right. She felt...
She climbed into her car. What was it she felt? Lost, perhaps? She'd been in a serious car accident, about a year ago, and because of that she'd lost her memory. Anything that happened before the accident she simply couldn't remember. Her family was patient. But, she didn't remember any of them. The doctor said there was a possibility she would never remember any of them or anything from her past.
She'd been told to continue on with her life and not worry about the past. She seemed to be a happy go lucky individual and was able to find a new job and start making new memories. But...
She pulled up to a stop light and looked around. Just on the corner near the coffee shop she was going to be going into in the next hour or so was that man. Today, he was wearing a light blue shirt that seemed to sparkle in the sunshine. Something about him made her chest contract. Should she be frightened?
He walked into the coffee store and stood in line. When his turn came up he ordered the same coffee he ordered everyday. The clerk smiled at him. "I do believe you're becoming my best customer," she told him. He just smiled and walked away.
He found a seat by the door and sat down. Not long after that his good friend came in to join him. "You waiting on her again?" he asked.
"I'll wait for her forever," he assured him. "She will remember me. She has no choice."
His friend nodded and came back a few minutes later with a cup of coffee and a cookie. "Says you," he told him. "I understand that she suffered a pretty bad head injury."
He sipped his coffee. "She will remember..."
At just that moment she entered the room. He smiled as he watched her swing her hips as she walked. She was the only woman he knew of in his entire life who walked like that.
Her long red hair had been tied back away from her face today and trailed down her back like a long vine.
He stood up. His friend stayed in his seat and watched.
She ordered and turned towards the door to exit.
