Bryn wrapped her bare arms around her body as she walked down the footpath from the bar. She had just finished her shift, it was 1am and the night was cool for this time of year. She was tired and felt dirty after serving drinks for 7 hours and couldn't wait to get into a hot shower and scrub away the dried sweat and beer. It wasn't the best job but the shifts were flexible and the pay was enough to allow her to rent her little place while she did her masters in Teaching at university. The other staff were great but some of the customers could be hard work. Their uniform was black- standard for hospitality- but all the girls wore tight high waisted short shorts and tight t shirts tucked in at the waist. She knew she looked amazing in her work uniform. Her waist was small and her stomach flat and toned but her hips flared out giving her a shapely hourglass figure.
Bryn had been a sprinter in high school and still ran so her developed glutes made her butt full, round and perky. She also had breasts that were on the larger side for her frame. Some of the male customers saw that 24 year old body in the little uniform and couldn't seem to help themselves. She was often touched on the thighs, waist or arms, they took liberties to do so every time she walked by or they spoke to her. Some nights when the bar was crowded and rowdy, she was openly groped. Men would grab handfuls of her ass or squeeze past her pretending there wasn't enough room so they could rub up against her. She always politely shut down their advances or excused herself and moved away. She didn't want to make a scene.
She stepped out of the shower in her apartment, folded a towel around herself and wiped the condensation from the mirror. Her large brown eyes stared back and examined the high cheekbones, full lips and smooth skin. A beauty spot graced her left cheek just beneath the outer corner of her eye but other than that her skin was largely unmarked. That is until she eyed the purplish green bruise on her neck. Bryn cringed at the memory of her night with Jake. She took a deep steadying breath. The emotions from that night churned around in her chest: shame and embarrassment, but also longing to do it again. She had had too much to drink at the bar that night, she had been completely uninhibited when she'd approached Jake. He was incredibly attractive to her- Tall, athletically built with cut muscular arms. His grey T-shirt hugged his broad shoulders and back then hung casually and loose down his tapered torso. Dark short hair, not styled but tousled like he'd just rubbed his hands through it. His face had been chiseled and serious. He didn't laugh loudly or goof around like his mates did. He had a quiet brooding intensity which had only lured Bryn in further. And she had been determined to prove something to herself that night so she'd thrown herself at him.
She had gone to the bar with two of her friends who had convinced her that she was too young and hot to sit in her house another night thinking about the breakdown of her last relationship. They came over beforehand with bottles of sparkling wine to get ready and by the time they'd popped the second one she was convinced going out was a great idea. The three of them were in her living room, champagne glasses, a cheese plate and makeup covered her coffee table. Music was playing and they were having fun giggling and suggesting makeup looks and talking shit. That was until the conversation took a turn to Reid.
"Ever since you broke up with that guy you've been a shut in. He's not here to keep you all to himself anymore."
"Amelia, give her a break. She's coming with us tonight so no lectures." Lola gave Bryn a sympathetic look.
Bryn felt her buzz immediately drop at the mention of her ex. "I don't want to talk about Reid. We were only together for 4 months, it was what it was and we're not together anymore." Her tone was clipped and she didn't make eye contact with her friends as she quickly dismissed the topic. They got the point and Amelia started talking about something else Bryn didn't pay attention to. They didn't know the half of what had gone on with Reid. What a colossal misjudgement she had made about that man. She was stupid for ever falling for his act. She had always liked a little edge to her men, something dangerous that excited her.
