I made a quick trip to Montreal to pick up a few things, I couldn't get in the States.
I checked into my hotel room downtown. It was doable for what I needed.
Single King-sized bed. Microwave and TV. what else could you ask for?
The bathroom was spacious enough. Even a heat lamp.
I settled in and went to get an early supper.
I went to the restaurant downstairs and sat at the bar as I was just a single diner, I ordered a whiskey neat. I looked over the menu and decided on a petite steak, baked potato, and a side salad.
While waiting I looked around the bar. At the other end was a dark-haired beauty. She wore a lime green dress with straps around her alabaster neck. She flipped some of her shoulder-length hair over her shoulders Her large, hooped earrings clicked as she did so.
A guy strutted up to the bar and offered to buy her a drink. Her body language shifted from ease to tense. She stared at him and I could see her lips say no thanks.
He didn't seem to give up, he leaned onto the bar, like Mr. Cocky. You know the guy "God gift to women!" Every woman could not say no to his charms.
Well, she did and she seemed to be immie to his bullshit. She moved her hand over his and bent back his wrist. He yelped in pain.
The female bartender walked over to them.
"Trouble Connie?" She asked.
"Nope Shelia all good, aren't we Stud?" She said.
He nodded as he winched from the pain. He went over to his buddies, and they had a good laugh at his expense. He rubbed his hand and shook it. He glared at her. But his humiliation was short-lived when a Blonde headed bimbo came over and started to chat it up with him and then started to massage his hand. Soon they were leaving the bar, the bimbo flipped off Connie and Connie raised a glass to her and smiled.
My dinner came and I noticed Connie checking out my meal. I raised my glass to her and she raised hers in a return salute.
I dug into my dimer and in a short while she came over to me.
Now I am nothing special like Mr. Jock Itch who she had to get physical on him.
Just a plain ordinary guy, Balding, a little overweight and I just like to chill.
She is a slightly framed pretty Asian lady with long black hair and almond eyes. They could melt your heart.
She sat down next to me and motioned to Shelia to bring us another round of drinks. She stuck out her hand and shook mine. "Connie!" She spoke.
"Mike," I said.
"Nice to meet you, Mike. So haven't seen you here before, new in town?" She asked.
I shook my head "No Connie I come up every few months to grab some things, I can't get in the states. Like real Canadian Maple syrup and whatnot."
"Oh, so you are a smuggler?" She said with a lilt to her crisp and smooth voice.
I laughed at that and said "Yeah, I got to smugglers blues!
She half snorted.
"Would you mind if I had a piece of your steak, please Mike?" She asked politely.
"No not at all Connie". I said as I stabbed a piece of steak with my fork.
She took it ever so slowly in her mouth. "Mmm nice and tender." She grinned.
I looked at the bartender and she brought over a fork for Connie. We shared more of the steak as well as my salad.
"You want me to order another meal, Connie?" Shelia the barkeeper asked.
"Nope, all finished Sheila," Connie said as she stabbed a huge piece of lettuce and tomato. She smacked her lips as she did.
It wasn't long and was finished. I asked Connie if she wanted dessert but she declined to teach me that I was desert for her.
Shelia slapped Connie s arm. "How many times have I told you to stop scaring the new clientele?
"Oops Sorry Shelia!" Connie said with a smirk.
They both laughed
I paid my bill and was starting to tell Connie it was nice to meet her.
She looked sad as I started to leave.
"Would you like to take a walk with me Mike before you retire?" She asked.
"That would be nice Connie," I said
And so we set off on our little walk. It wasn't long and we happened by a park. Some people were doing an evening Tai Chi class.
"I always wanted to try that, but I am afraid I am a klutz when it comes to anything athletic"!" I said.
Connie went over to the instructor during a water break and asked if we could join. Stating that I was a novice and Connie was more graceful.
