Annie got out of the shower and into her PJs. Tiny shorts, big shirt, with her curly hair wrapped in a second t-shirt she had scooped off her bedroom floor. She sat across from her mirror on the floor and did her routine, finished with a mask. It was a Friday night and her roommates were out. She could go make a cup of tea without anyone seeing her in her regal t-shirt headdress and charcoal mud mask and was glad for it. It had been a stressful week and she needed the rejuvenation time. Between work and school and her internship every day had had something that demanded her attention and presence every day and each night. Be careful what you wish for, she wished she could've told herself at the beginning of the semester.
So instead of going out tonight with her friends she needed to stay in and she was quite pleased with her decision. Annie poured herself a large glass of wine and walked to her living room. There was much reality TV to be caught up on. She picked her show and then went back to the bathroom to clean off her mask.
It was there she noticed her phone on the ground. She hadn't looked at it since leaving the shower, and certainly hadn't left it lying on the floor. No, it had vibrated itself off the edge, and when Annie saw what she had missed her blood ran cold and then hot.
Four missed calls from BB, two missed texts.
Annie felt immediately nauseated. What had she just thought before? Something for class or work every night of the week. And that had included tonight. The four calls said everything. The two texts were blunt, "where are you" and "coming over" and Annie could feel the ice coming off the words.
BB was someone she had known a long time, and she was the TA in the History of Jazz class Annie had taken to get an easy grade. The class required attending performances around town for credit, and BB had been pushing Annie to come to one this Friday for weeks. One she would be performing in. But History of Jazz was on a Monday and she hadn't thought of it again during her busy week.
She barely had time to get her hair down before she heard the knock at the door. "Already?" thought a startled Annie.
Annie opened the door, and indeed, there she was. She was wearing a black jacket and a green skirt that went to her knees and very cute shoes. Her black hair pulled behind her ears and an amused expression behind big glasses. She looked great and imperious and it made Annie feel embarrassed and start to blush. And melt.
"Are you going to stare or let me in?"
Annie stammered an apology and practically dove out of the way to let BB in. After shuffling back into her kitchen she had the courage to look BB in the eye again and saw fire.
"Where the hell were you?"
"I'm sorry, I--"
BB slapped her and she gasped. Then slapped her a second time. She would've fallen over if BB hadn't also gripped her by the shoulder. Annie buried her head in BB's chest. and BB scowled, "You know the first hit was for not letting me in properly, the second was for not addressing me properly." Then, suddenly her voice was all softness and warmth, "Do we want to try again?"
Annie looked up, her eyes already a little misty, "Thank you Goddess I'm so sorry Goddess. I don't know how I forgot, I'm an idiot" she was pleading, spiraling. BB reached down and pinched her ass hard, causing Annie to give a cute little yelp.
"Don't talk about my property like that, pet. I wouldn't own and care for an idiot."
Annie blushed again, and "I really am so sorry Goddess..."
