This first chapter sets up the characters. A little provocative teasing is good for oneās imagination. Future chapters will sport more play. I promise! Thank you for taking the time to read my story.
Donald Parsons, CEO of his own consulting firm, was a big man. At 6ā5ā and 250 pounds his size alone made him intimidating. He was nearing his 50th birthday but seemed at least ten years younger with his tan, smooth-skinned face, healthy physique, and high energy level. The only thing betraying his years was a slight āafter 40ā paunch to his belly. He was average looking, but he had piercing, blue-gray eyes distinguished by dark lashes and eyebrows. Those eyes would light up and soften with his million-dollar smile when he was pleased; or they could darken and bore icy fear right into oneās heart when he was pissed off. Anywhere he went he commanded attention; especially at business functions as he just dripped power, and kept everyone on their toes with his keen intelligence and acumen. He was used to, and expected, his colleagues and staff to automatically defer to his decisions and judgment. Although if convincing enough, associates had been known to persuade him to go along with a different thought or idea, but this was on rare occasion.
This morning he was impatiently waiting for a return call from Herman Miller, the firmās attorney, regarding licensure of a company he was assisting a European client to purchase. Several kinks had been ironed out over the past few months of negotiations, and it had not been easy. Now, with the closure of the deal at hand, someone had chimed in that there might be a problem with certain licenses that allowed the company to operate. At this late date, this close to the wire, this snag was a potential killer of the deal. It was speculated that the licenses may have lapsed a few years ago, and God knows what else that would affect, what fines this would cost. Millerās ass was on the line, as it was his department that was expected to have investigated all these details before Parsonsā company committed to consulting and assisting in any deals.
He felt extremely distracted as he tried to read and answer the numerous emails that were waiting his attention when heād arrived at the office. Some he saved for later contemplation, others that didnāt get to the point within the first three sentences he simply deleted. He had no time or energy to waste on those who could not quickly present whatever issue needed resolving. But for some reason it was not the deal or the emails that were distracting him, he just couldnāt put his finger on it.
Now and then he glanced out of his office toward his Executive Assistantās desk. The walls of his corner office were glass from floor to ceiling. Vertical blinds afforded as much or as little privacy as was needed. At times, he liked to leave them fairly open so he could look out and see everyone hard at work. Half a dozen people sat in the middle of the room, each person had his or her own cubicle but the partitions were just less than four feet high, and they knew they were sometimes observed by the CEO. Hence they remained diligent in their research or fact-finding projects, and various other assignments given them by Parsonsā junior executives and lawyer.
At the moment his very much pregnant EA, Karen, was training a temp regarding the ins and outs of how Mr. Parsons liked things done for him. This included designing presentations in Power Point, correlating the data from his research group into spreadsheets and graphs, scheduling meetings and conference calls, arranging travel and what hotels he preferred, even how to correctly making a pot of coffee and how he liked his clothes laundered at the cleaners. Mr. Parsons was divorced and Karen saw to it his household was taken care of, as well as his business needs. But it was a very demanding job and while she could certainly handle everything, she was having doubts that she wanted to continue while trying to raise her baby. Her husband also worked full time and they both put in long hours. Karen didnāt want to be worn out everyday, too tired to enjoy her baby. In the back of her mind she was considering leaving her position, so sheād interviewed several women from the temp agency to find the one she was most confident could take over on a permanent basis.
Saundra Williams was a woman of short stature and many fine curves. At 5ā3ā she weighed a little more than she liked, but it didnāt seem to discourage any looks of appreciation from men, and sometimes women. Her dark brunette hair was short and wavy, so she only needed to wash it and partially blow-dry it with little time wasted and it always looked great, and somewhat sassy. She dressed conservatively, but her clothes were crisp and showed off her figure very nicely. Her full bosom showed just enough cleavage to entice desires of feeling the shape and weight of those large globes in oneās hands. Her round hips and slightly plump ass delicately sashayed when she walked, betraying much femininity in her business-like stride. Strength and confidence came across not only in her walk but the way she carried herself, even while standing still, and the way she sat at the desk and performed the tasks given to her by Karen.
For Karen, Saundraās appealing looks were an aside. It had been her impressive background in her career and no-nonsense professionalism that gained Karenās attention during the interview. Saundra was quiet but commanding, self-assured in an unassuming way. Besides, Saundra was single, had no children, and could afford to sacrifice the long hours this job would require. When Karen asked her why she had not stayed at her previous, lucrative positions she was captured by Saundraās smile as she answered āI just havenāt found the right niche yet, the job that I can call āhomeāā. That cemented Karenās feelings that Mr. Parsons would be in the best hands with Saundra, allowing her to accept her decision to quit her job and devote more time to her baby and husband. In the two weeks that followed Saundraās acceptance of the job offer, Karen was amazed at how quickly Saundra absorbed and completed everything to the letter, even dealing with Mr. Parsonsā household concerns.
Mr. Parsons watch the two women as they worked together. His eyes were drawn to Saundraās legs as she sat by the desk as they poured over all the details of his busy life. Besides being treated to a view of her well-shaped calves, her skirt had ridden up to expose a glimpse her soft thighs. He kept glancing at her pretty face, so serious in concentration. She had finally removed the jacket of the dove-gray suit sheād worn to reveal a fitted, but sensible, cranberry colored blouse which accentuated her full breasts. The color flattered her pale complexion, her softly rouged cheeks, and her dusk pink lips. His mind flashed on his last date several nights ago with some sweet but unintelligent blonde heād met at a clientās cocktail party. She had been a great fuck, but not very challenging in the brains department. While he screwed himself dry, she had turned out to be rather boring. Heād felt hollow the whole time, feeling she was most likely shopping for a rich hubby to merely keep her in some fancy lifestyle. Mr. Parsons mused that his distraction might be quelled by a little attention from the sexy woman now sitting beside Karen. Something about this female engaged him. She was so composed but exuded sensuality. It almost seemed as if she was unaware of the aura she gave off. But surely she had to be conscious of the image she was projecting. He was amused by her reserve, and wondered what sheād be like if she unleashed her passion.
On her first day alone on the job, Saundra came into Mr. Parsonsā office just as he was ending a phone conversation. Sheād paused at the door, listening to his angry, bordering on rude tone of voice, and calmly approached his desk with the report heād requested. She patiently stood in front of him and gazed out the window at the incredible view of the city. Her thoughts were only that it was too bad his desk did not face the view, then maybe heād feel calmer looking at the beautiful site.
āā¦youād better get it done, or else Iāll never send any work your way again. Yes, you bet your ass youāll get over there and make this rightā¦damn well better not blow it,ā he growled into the head set then punched the disconnect button. He was momentarily annoyed at the stranger just coming into his office, then suddenly remembered she was Karenās replacement and looked her in the eye to observe her reaction to what sheād just heard. She handed him the folder containing her finished work and stood with her hands clasped in front of her. He noticed she wasnāt the least bit ruffled, so cool and waiting for his next request of her. As he flipped through the report he was impressed that it was as good, if not better, than her predecessorās work. He remained expressionless as he glanced at her again, noting her classic but sexy appearance. Then he signed off on the report and handed it back to her. But as she took it from him their fingers touched and he felt a strange sensation zip through him. She smiled and turned to leave his office.
āOh, Missā¦uh,ā he was confused that all of a sudden he could not think of her name.
āWilliams. But I donāt mind if you call me Saundra.ā Her voice was as smooth as good bourbon, warming its way down oneās throat. She stopped at the door and turned to face him, āWill there be anything else, for now?ā
āOh, no, thatās fine. Good job on the report,ā he offered her. He looked her up and down, admiring her full figure in a cream colored dress, not too tightly hugging her breasts and hips, just enough to hint at her voluptuous curves. āSend that to Miller, will you?ā
āYes, of course. Thank you.ā She smiled politely and closed the door behind her as she left his office. When she sat down at her desk her smile did not diminish as she thought of how even the most powerful men could be reduced to stammering mush by a nice body and honeyed voice.
He sat back in his leather chair and took a deep breath. The spark heād felt when his fingers glanced hers had surprised him in that it caught him off guard. Certainly he found her attractive, but that was not what pushed his composure. Yet, he couldnāt quite ascertain how sheād affected him. He suddenly felt a little irritated that sheād somehow made a chink in his manly armor. He resolved not to let her distract him in such a way as to cause him to fumble in thought and behavior.
Saundra was mildly flattered by Mr. Parsonsā demeanor. Over the next few days he tried to act more casual around her as if she was just another entity to deal with. But she could tell by the look in his eyes that he was focused on her. So she played on that, subtly teasing him. She took to sitting across his desk from him, rather than respectfully standing, so when they went over documents or reports she had to lean forward showing off her ample bosom. When he looked at her face she might daintily lick her lips or finger the collar of her blouse or lapel of her jacket. Whenever she rose from her chair she would unobtrusively smooth her skirt or dress over her hips and thighs. She found it charming that she had his rapt attention. What she found really fascinating was that she could command his fixation upon her. Even while he was on the telephone, she noticed his eyes on her, whether she was in his office or at her own desk. He seemed to leave the blinds open more often in the days since sheād taken the position of his Executive Assistant.
