Paul slammed the lid of his laptop closed. Finally, the weekend, two days of reprieve from the tedious spread sheets that dominated his professional life. He quickly slipped the slim black laptop into is bag, grabbed his coat and headed for the elevator. Paul's mind raced as the elevator carried him down. He was on his way to meet Jane for their third date at a local pub. She was all he had been able to think about the last few days.
As he walked out of the elevator he jumped as his phone buzzed. One new message from Jane.
"Just got to the bar! I ordered us drinks, see you soon."
"5 minutes away" Paul replied.
He picked up the pace as he left his office building behind. It was a short walk over to the pub. The pub had a large outdoor seating area and a long wooden bar that spanned the length of the patio. Paul spotted Jane sitting at the far end. He slipped through the busy pub making his way to Jane. Jane was wearing a flattering pair of skin tight jeans with a frilly white blouse. Her alluring figure caught Paul the same as it had when they first meet.
"You have to try this!" Jane said as she pushed a highball glass with a red drink garnished with an orange towards Paul.
Paul took a cautious sip. He was more a beer and whiskey kind of guy. This bright red concoction wasn't something he expected to like. Squinting playfully back at Jane Paul let the cool drink wash over his taste buds.
"I am not sure, it's a little bitter... maybe a little sour, I don't know" Paul set the drink down. Jane giggled at this sour face.
"Take another sip." Jane encouraged once again edging the drink closer to Paul.
"What is this?" asked Paul. Taking another sip.
"It's a negroni! One part gin, one part sweet vermouth, one part campari" Jane smirked back at him.
The second sip was different. The flavors seemed to mellow and compliment each other.
"So strange, I don't like any of those on their own, but together... I can see why people like this" Paul grinned back at Jane.
With the third sip, Paul was hooked.
"I knew you would like it! My recommended dosage is two. Three and you'll wake up asking 'Where are my pants and who are you?'". Jane laughed back at him.
"Ha! Very well, I'll follow your recommended dosage then"
Paul and Jane shared some appetizers and sipped their cocktails. As the night progressed Paul found him self drawn towards Jane's soft feminine curves and sparkling eyes. Jane took a last long sip from her second negroni and set the glass down with a thump.
"You settle up with the bar, I need to use the lady's room." Jane winked as she scooted of her seat and headed towards the restrooms.
"Wow, yes ma'am." Paul said to the vacant seat beside him.
Paul paid the bartender and found Jane's arm winding through his just as he slipped his credit car back into his wallet.
"So," said Jane "... how about we head back to my place." Jane's grin was somewhere between playful and devilish.
"Sounds good to me!" Paul felt his cheeks color at the invitation. He felt a little foolish. Why couldn't he think of up some smooth reply. The couple caught an uber, and cuddled in the back seat as they rode towards Jane's apartment. They walked through the apartment lobby towards the elevator. Lisa hit the call button. Once the doors opened Lisa hit the button for the fifth floor.
Paul knew this was a golden opportunity. He casually ran his fingers through Jane's hair. She smiled up in response to the touch. Reading her smile Paul leaned in and kissed her. Jane leaned into his kiss. Paul let his hands slide over Jane's back, feeling the graceful curve of her toned body. Then, he felt a bite! Jane caught his lower lip in her teeth. Her teeth found a resilient edge of resistance, any harder it would have hurt, any softer and it wouldn't have been surprising. Just as she released him the elevator bill dinged and the doors opened.
"Follow me. I'm at the end of the hall" Jane said, and lead him toward her door.
Entering Jane's apartment Paul felt his pulse quicken. Her apartment was small, but very nice. She had a L shaped couch facing a wall mounted TV. The living room was open to a cozy kitchen. Paul could see an open door off the living room leading towards her bedroom.
"Take a seat, I'll grab us some drinks." Jane said.
She kissed his neck, then placing her hand in the small of his back guided him towards the couch. Paul heard clicking of glasses and the pour of wine from the kitchen. She placed the two glasses on the coffee table, then turned on a small lamp which dimly bathed the room in a soft golden light.
They each took a sip. The wine was a dark red cabernet, dry with a hint of red fruit.
"My feet are so tired from these heels." Jane purred, "Would you take them off for me?"
"Um.. sure!" Paul replied
